The Othmer Library recently acquired this 1836 copy of Edward Davy’s An Experimental Guide to Chemistry for our rare book collection. This book has some wonderful fold out plates of chemical apparatus, but what caught my eye during cataloging was this very modern looking graph on the back fly leaf. It depicts in block form the composition of air.
