Reminder that twitter is now an informal, unregulated (i.e. warrantless) information source for Trump administration use.
if you dont mind adding a browser extension and installing python, heres a way you can find your twitter followers and import your twitter feed to bluesky!
apparently https://movetodon.org is a mastodon-migration tool as well.
Divorce 🤝 gender transition = a big costly life decision with too much paperwork that conservatives say will cause the end of civilization & ruin your life but if you actually ask people who chose to do it, they'll tell you their only regret is that they didn't do it sooner
Two men dancing, Harlem, 1920s.
According to George Chauncey’s eponymous Gay New York, the Harlem Renaissance of the ’20s provided an opportunity for gay men to create their own social and cultural spaces within the burgeoning nightlife in the neighborhood.
ohh this is lovely
i mean i like the subject matter, but also, it’s just an objectively beautiful photograph. the composition, the gentle sense of motion, the smile on the dancer’s face, his partner’s face in shadow, the central focus being on their clasped hands… honestly one of the best photographs i’ve seen.
Mass deportation is a form of ethnic cleansing. Do you understand.
i am an indigenous minority in russia and i can't agree more on that.
russians didn't "peacefully conquer" volga, ural, siberia, far east and caucasus. they ethnically cleansed it.
"mass deportation of crimean tatars" it was actually a genocide.
"mass deportation of kavkazi people" it was actually a genocide.
mass deportations are not safe for those who are being deported. they suffer famine, the lack of sanitary norms, infections, lack of water and medicine, and other anti-human conditions. and i promise mass deportation are intentionally designed to be like that. they are designed to cull as much of those who are deported as possible.
if you support mass deportations of anyone, block me so i don't have to. and fuck you
ah yes, Kandinsky, Malevich, Larionov, Shepitko, Tarkovsky. all were famous for never making anyone ask “what does it mean?”
Communist revolution will collapse the distinction between signifier and signified. Ferdinand de Saussure is shaking
works of art which cannot be understood in themselves but need some pretentious instruction book to justify their existence will never again find their way to the German people-- oh wait shit that’s a Hitler quote oh fuck
Time to bring back The Video again
you guys have all this vitriol for lord licorice like you werent getting parked in the molasses swamp for 10 turns consecutively. you are letting your preconceived notions of appearance as an arbiter of morality propagandize you into ignoring the real enemy. grow up.
like ok i know what youre all gonna say btw youre gonna tell me that lord licorice abducted king kandy and tried to turn candy land into licorice land. sure. whatever. i guess we're monarchists now? either way. we have no way of knowing if this is even true. the only source on this is mr. mint, who was revealed to be taking money from the kandy family to excessively cut down candy canes so they could build their summer home, which prevented the flow of menthol to the gingerbread plum trees. we're all gonna pretend like we didnt see plumpy's mutual aid requests, which is extra fucked bc he's literally the LAST plumpa troll. and anyway when youre walking your candy ass up to the castle, i'd like to know WHOSE HOUSE has the rainbow bridge that takes 2 hours off your trip, 2.5 in toffee traffic. yeah. lord licorice. you guys are fake.
I want to fuck Queen Frostine
stay on topic
im a fucking sucker for the “character gets so badly injured that they can’t think clearly and start calling for help in a distressingly vulnerable way.” characters who start using nicknames for their friends they haven’t used since they were kids. characters who start begging for their brother they haven’t seen in years to be there. characters who would usually use their parents’ names or call them mother/father/etc crying out mama when they go down. u understand.
Got off a video call with my grandma. Asked her what sort of American foods she was enjoying (my dad flew her in from Korea and she's staying with him in Phoenix rn). She said most of the food isn't too impressive but she's addicted to a specific candy, and when she held up a bag of Werther's Originals I started howling
i cannot hate myself into a version of me i will love.
i cannot punish myself in any way that will unmake the past.
just so you know
Honestly it boils down to reparenting yourself & rewiring your own neuronal pathways & telling yourself a firm “stop” when you notice your mind slipping down negative loopholes & being present in the moment & enjoying being mid task rather than waiting for it to end & not thinking of inertia as your baseline and natural way of living
So tempting to keep embarking on the same self destructive cycle over & over & over again . But at some point you have to put ur foot down w ur own behaviors & be the thing that truly saves u
If you have achieved something, please remember to observe a mandatory period of basking in the warm glow of your achievement like a lizard on a stone, lest you teach your brain that effort is futile, actually, because it didn't get to enjoy its happy chemicals, so, naturally, nothing good ever comes of trying. (And no, avoiding punishment is not a reward!)
I recommend, like, 5% of basking time in relation to whatever time you invested into achieving the thing minimum. And if you can't make your own bask, friend-brought is fine (= tell your friends!).
book from the sky (tianshu) xu bing, 1989-91
I was so excited to see a copy of this in real life bc it's something I studied in art history. this is a book that was typeset and printed by hand using wooden blocks but every one of the characters was invented for the sake of the piece and does not correspond to any word in the Chinese language
yes. he invented and hand carved 4000 characters. it is a CRAZY project that resulted in an intentionally unreadable book. I love it
Xu Bing you're legendary to me !!!!
