I looked up the book it’s based on, comments say it’s the somewhat older kind of danmei characterised by a cliched melodramatic soapy plot. Not my kind of book, but I like the way the trailer was directed. Putting humour first was a great move. Then what reeled me in was this sentence and its firm upbeat delivery: “无论你以后做错了什么，我都无条件原谅你！” “No matter what you do wrong in the future, I’ll forgive you unconditionally!” It’s the loveliest ballad to the ears of someone who messed up and/or may mess up. It’s like, oh to be deserving of love and full confidence in your character and your mistakes don’t change that…That’s sweet
