Ed keeping the Stede cake topper fucks me up ofc, but you know what fucks me up even more??? Ed tucking the cake topper into his jacket close to his heart and later getting rid of it the same way he got rid of the red silk. Ed trying not once but twice to just...get rid of his heart. Throw it away. What's the use of a heart full of love when no one wants it?
Ed twice tries to throw away his heart but it always comes back! He can't fucking get rid of the thing! It never leaves his chest, he can throw it away all he wants but it will always be there!! And Stede will always be drawn to it!!
Blackbeard confessed to the crime moments ago
ed and stede's last scene (babe version) 💕🏴☠️
Bless you. Bless you for a thousand years.
I bet if Samba released enough BTS material, we could cobble together the Jenkins Cut of 2x08!
Whyyyyyyy would they cut this though 😭😭😭😭 Stede trying out Ed’s pet name!!!! Calling back to asking if he can call Ed his boyfriend and Ed being like “I’d actually love that.” “I’m in” calling back to Ed’s “I was all in.” This would have been so perfect 😭 max once again on my fucking shit list (not that they ever left)
thinking about how ed and stede have been in their inn for a whole year and they’re sitting on the porch watching the sunset and talking about all the memories they’ve made and the decorations they’ve added to make it their own and how they’ve watched the seasons change and all the times they’ve laughed and cried and held each other and fucked and fought and learned about each other and learned about themselves
stede says ‘happy inniversary’ and ed laughs and they hold hands and listen to the waves and they’re both so happy
(they’ve still not formally opened. every day they say ‘let’s open the inn tomorrow’)
I love you. I love you 💜 I know... I know that
honk it through as a crew
you know what this feels like?
this feels like when ed first opens his eyes underwater in the gravy basket. unsure of what exactly is happening, unsure of exactly why he opened his eyes..
...but driven to do so by hope and light beginning to shine for him again.
the way I can see the s3 trailer so clearly in my mind: one of the crew members saying "do you take this man--" loud crash and the sounds of gunshot, Ed and Stede kiss as everyone starts running, they look at each other other, smiles getting wider "Ready?", we see Ed in full leathers and Stede in his pirate garb, Stede has 7 guns draped around him, Ed has flowers in his hair and beard, they're holding hands, Ricky steps over a body with the face hidden (the fandom will tear their hair over who it belongs to), AC/DCs Back in Black starts blaring (DJ tweets 💒 💔 🔫 😶🌫️)
There’s an old inn down by the beach that is rumoured to be haunted.
People say it was once owned by two famous pirates, so when prospective guests hear it’s haunted they assume the worst and expect wailing in the night and spectres at the feet of their beds. However, that is not the case at all. Somehow, the grass at the inn grows greener than anywhere else, the flowers grow taller and brighter, and guests are often overwhelmed by an inexplicable feeling of peace when they arrive.
Sometimes, on very rare occasions, a pair of ghosts can be spotted there walking hand in hand through the garden or dancing together in the moonlight. The two of them appear to be far too enamoured with each other to be of any trouble to the guests though.
Stede and Ed are long gone but their spirits still haunt the place that was once their home. The love they shared still permeates the building and the earth surrounding it. They may be gone but their love will never die.
One of Ed's lines that always breaks my heart is when he tells Stede "you're no fuckin' mermaid" as he's kicked off the ship in s2e4.
Because like. yeah. that's a nice funny line and Stede's bemused reaction is top notch. But if you think about it hurts SO BAD
Like, Ed is alive, right now, solely because his vision of Stede as a mermaid gave him the will to live. He is alive because Stede was there with him and held his hand and told him that he wasn't alone. And then what happens? Ed gets chained to the railing, he's treated like a monster (the crew are 10000% justified in being upset with him, but just imagine how the poor guy must feel to be treated like this after coming SO close to dying!), there's no way in hell Stede was ever going to not follow him but he thinks he's being forced to go off alone when that was the thing he was most worried about down in the Gravy Basket, he's in pain and it feels like he's more alone than ever.
"You're no mermaid," when Ed says it to Stede, also means "I thought you saved me but I'm not sure you did anymore." It means "I was so scared I was alone and you made me think I wasn't, but now it feels like I was right all along." It means "I thought you came back but now I don't think you actually did." It means "I thought you came to me as I was drowning but now I'm not even sure that was real."
They should have started filming by now. 😭💔😭💔😭💔
ALERT! ALERT! THERE ARE CHAIRS ON THE PORCH OF THE SHACK! THERE ARE CHAIRS!
They have furniture 😭😭😭 I feel like this is Very Important Information 😭😭😭🫠🫠🫠💕💕💕
Also there’s a little lantern by the door 💕
btw compare this production still to the last shot of the inn in the episode that aired:
not only have the chairs and lantern been added, the holes in the roof have been repaired.
this appears to be a scene set after a timeskip that got cut.
Fox Im fascinated by this! So this is the bts picture I saw on Twitter (trying to find out where it’s originally from at the moment) and I assume from the spade that this was taken at Izzy’s funeral…
But this is the shack behind them in the show, and there’s definitely holes in the roof and no chairs on the porch
Can’t see the condition of the windows though, but I remember Lindsey Cantrell saying on Insta that she cut the glass for Ed and Stede’s last scene, so maybe they hadn’t decided on broken windows here? Maybe they decided in post to rough it up a bit and add the holes in the roof? And when did they move the chairs? That’s an easy thing to do of course, but it had to be a descision y’know.
(Of course, in my head Ed and Stede have fixed the windows and the roof, and they’re chilling in that porch every evening 💕)
