John F. Kennedy exchanged eleven letters and three telegrams with Swedish aristocrat Gunilla Von Post between March 1954 and August 1955. Von Post, who died last October, published the letters in a memoir titled Love, Jack and later auctioned them off. For pictures of the letters and telegrams, click here. On November 22nd, 1963, just hours after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, actor and political activist Vince Flaherty sent this telegram to the White House, addressed to Malcolm M. Kilduff, JFK's assistant press secretary. Kilduff is best known for making the public announcement that JFK had passed away. The letter also references Evelyn Lincoln, JFK's personal secretary who was in the motorcade when he was shot, Pierre Salinger, who was the White House Press Secretary to JFK and later President Lyndon Johnson, and Kenneth O'Donnell, who was a top JFK aide.
