There really is no punchline in this comic, if you haven’t figured that out already, haha. I just wanted to draw more interaction between Ted and Old Man Once-ler, because there is not enough of that. I also wanted to draw Old Man Once-ler being just as active as he was in the movie.

Saw The Lorax again last night. I’ve fallen in love with the Once-ler. He’s like the anti-hero of the story, and I have an incredible weakness for those types of characters.
Just had to sketch some of his wonderful expressions, and then an idea struck me. Ted & Once-ler were never in the same shot together, if I recall. I wanted to show Once-ler finally going outside, with Ted helping him out.
Now I’m kinda wondering if Ted is Once-ler’s grandson. Is that weird? >^<
