- Burberry is joining the ranks of high-fashion houses that have chosen to omit fur from their collections, following the footsteps of vegan brand Stella McCartney, and Gucci, Michael Kors, Net-a-Porter, and others.
- In an effort to be more cruelty-free, they will no longer be designing or stocking fur materials.
- In an interview with The Business of Fashion, Burberry CEO Marco Gobbetti announced that, though the British fashion house is not going totally cruelty-free (yet!), they will no longer be working with rabbit, fox, mink, Asiatic raccoon fur, and angora.
- Shearling and leather will still be in the mix of their approved materials, and there is no word yet on whether they will eventually be nixed as well.
- The Humane Society has applauded the brand’s efforts.
