If your argument against gun control goes like this “what if a bad guy has a gun I need one to defend myself” then you’re already stating that a gun is a threat to the safety of those nearby. You’re tickling your ego by thinking you with your gun will be faster and smarter than the bad guy and frankly my life is not worth testing out your bullshit attitude. You already know guns are bad, you just think you with a gun is better. If they shoot you or you shoot them that’s the same number of people killed. You still believe guns are dangerous you just wanna feel cool idk what to tell you champ just stop sniffing the glue.

#tw: guns#gun control#idk what to tell you champ just stop sniffing the glue oh my god#i mean i understand where the folks are coming from#its from a place of fear#but if you eliminate the source of the fear or moderate it better then you will have less to fear#i literally did not see a gun until i was like 11 and that was because it was on a cop who was a family friend stopping by to say hi#i only knew guns were for police and hunters#there was no other definition for it that i knew of until i got older and heard that people were shot#on a regular basis#i grew up in a small town where there were like zero shootings in the history of the town#its a completely different mindset#it never even occured to me that guns could be used to harm another person (that wasn't like a serial killer or a really /really/ bad dude)#it was such a foreign and violent thought for me that it was inconceivable#i feel so bad that kids (and regular folks) have to deal with that kind of fear and that it's normalized!!! what the fuck!!
