I don’t abhor the idea of ChatGPT. Or “advanced general intelligence” (or whatever they call it), or “artificial intelligence”.

I don’t think we were ever going to reach a future where someone didn’t merge all of our collective knowledge into one, sort of, ‘interface’.

The way we tell stories from generation to generation will always evolve. 100%. No argument there.

HOWEVER. I do absolutely detest the way in which we came here. I guess it’s easy to say it’s because AI was metamorphosed in the cocoon of capitalism. (Do I sound smart :P)

If we created ChatGPT with attribution and credit in mind? If we created this tool in a way that honoured and compensated the actual people that were used in its creation, rather than just the creator? Then yea, we’d be off to an amazing start.

But we didn’t.

So now we have a tool that was created by plundering the life work’s of billions of people, that was created with the usual tech bro ‘rapist mentality’ by saying “fuck your consent lol”, that further destroys our planet by way of its greedy resource consumption, that continues to fill the creators’ pockets with millions and millions of ill earned wealth, that will continue to attract the masses through dishonest marketing about how that company will give everyone a chance - “no more gate keeping” or whatever.
