Hi! We are Sophie and Liza. Two cosplayers from the Netherlands. ♥ This blog is dedicated to our selfmade costumes.

Hey, I was wondering if you had a tutorial for Dragon Symmetra at all? I would love to make cosplay her, the make up part I am confident on but the fiddly bits like her horns and shoes and what not I have no idea on how to approach. Thanks in advance!

Hi! Yes, there’s a tutorial for the entire headpiece here on our blog. Just click on the dragon symmetra tag to find it! :D The shoes are made out of worbla, so you’d just need worbla sandwiching tutorials for that, of which there are luckily plenty already on the internet. Good luck!

Here’s the full step-by-step tutorial of how we made Dragon Symmetra’s head! It’s made from Worbla’s KobraCast, upholstery foam, aluminium foil, 2 mm ClueyFoam and SEALPrime with airbrush paints. It weighs around 400 grams and it is very comfortable. Most of this stuff can be found at CosplayClues!

[ Easy to hug too. When not worn, it looks like a little caterpillar ;) ]

Here it is: the full Widowmaker latex suit tutorial! :D

Or rather, a step-by-step of the complete process. Not pictured: failing twice, making unfixable mistakes and starting over and experiencing utter despair. Sorry for the censor bars! Working with latex means showing.. well.. uh, everything. >.< It was a great learning experience to work with latex and in the end, I had a lot of fun. Would I do it again? ...eehhhhhhhh maaaybe. xD

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! xx Sophie

CraftSkin Tutorial

CraftSkin isn't really a new material but I haven't seen many people use it yet. The idea to use CraftSkin for this part of the Daydreamer armor developed because I was looking for something that would behave like cloth while mimicking the look of Worbla. So I decided to come up with something that could blur the lines a bit in look & feel between armor and cloth, and the answer turned out to be CraftSkin!

Work in Progress photos for Deception IV, Laegrinna & Velguirie

Shoes: Laegrinna’s shoes needed a lot of sewn-in boning in the upper part of the shoes to make them keep their shape when worn. ^^ For Velguirie’s shoes we decided to go all out and make (almost) seamless bootcovers. The pattern is quite complicated but the result is worth it. ♥

Dresses: Laegrinna’s dress was a lot of fun to make because of the cute white ruffles in the skirt! ♥ ♥ Velguirie’s dress is fitted to her corseted shape. Then the red and black panels are appliquéd and the lace was added by hand.

Arm pieces: The armor piece of Laegrinna is made with foam and worbla. Velguirie’s sleeve has sewn in pin tucks.

Horn: The horn was made with clay and rope. Then it was covered in worbla and the gradient effect was made with several kinds of nailpolish.

The (long overdue) M-6 Carnifex gun how-to/tutorial/something! :D

Step 1: Gather your stuff! For this build I used Durafoam (grey) and Plastiform (white). Step 2: Kinda optional, but I used some (superbright) red and blue LED's and put a switch in the trigger for extra swagger. Step 3: Cut out and stack your foam layers to the desired height and make your sharp details with Plastiform. Make sure to stack all your electric wires in the middle so they're nice and snug and can't go anywhere. (You can also make some ridges for them if necessary) Step 4: Check if everything still works and if you like it! xD I glued the layers together at this point and sanded the grip with my dremel, to get that rounded look. I also carved some lines in the grip, with a little sharp knife. Step 5: Give that gun some paint! Guns love paint. (Oh don't forget to prime and seal or it might chip) Step 6: EQUIP & WEAR INTO BATTLE. FEEL LIKE A BADASS. >D

Shepard out ;) Hope it helps! Don't hesitate to ask questions if you have any. Materials by Minque
