When a client comes with a story about a ‘red-headed league’ …..
Impressions from New Russian Holmes, Halifax
Baker Street 221b: The beginning ….
SHERLOCK HOLMES: You arrived in London today. By the way, all the hotels will be full by this point … not to mention that prices are high enough. If you’re looking for a cheap apartment, you need …
DR WATSON: But how do you know that it was today, that I’m a doctor, I mean who are you?
SHERLOCK HOLMES: Anyhow …. 221b Baker Street. There is one free room on the second floor. It’s half-board, the room is big enough, nice neighbours. The owner is Mrs Hudson, dreadful woman, but cooks very well.

my favorite russian sherlock holmes (2013) gifs:

- pensive holmes casually nibbling on his glasses
- watson petting a random hen
- holmes balancing on a stair railing while talking excitedly over watson’s shoulder
the four horsemen
random police dude: sherlock! join us! you seem to be the only competent person here!

So, returning to our previous conversation, I must say, you make it all seem so incredibly simple. Hold that for a minute. You remind me Dupin, from Edgar Allan Poe’s stories, have you read them? I thought such individuals could only, oh, I don’t know… could only exist in novels, only in…
I think, Watson, that it would be as well of you to have your pistol ready. —The Adventure of the Copper Beeches
I adore the editing in this fight scene. The first time I´ve seen this I remeber thinking “whoa, this actually feels like boxing”. It invoked the memories of my own sparings. And it´s all mainly thanks to emphasis of the editor on Watsons moves. The clip speeds up whenever he is using his weight to pull him and slows down during the retreats and the waiting periods. And the fact that almost the whole fight is shot from one angle (not counting some cheat cuts) only helps to magnify this effect.
A very important gif of Watson petting a hen for bowl-of-glow
