I’ll be honest, the more times I watch this film the more the glaring plot holes annoy me and those are especially significant towards the end including during this scene but I still love Moriarty’s impeccable control and courtesy even when he is absolutely seething with rage. And this behaviour towards Holmes is completely canonical.
