what are your top 10 favorite marvel movies (from any studio)?
Oooh great question that I haven't thought about in a while!
1. Black Panther. Easiest answer. There will never be a better comic book movie for me personally. I saw it 5 times in theaters and was blown away every single time, and still am to this day. Can quote it almost word for word.
2. Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse. Still nearly a perfect movie to me, this was one of the most mind blowing movie theatre experiences I can ever remember. Just two straight hours of a visual and storytelling masterpiece.
3. Thor Ragnarok. The most fun the mcu has ever been for me, I love this movie just as much as I did when it released. Everything from the score, the costumes, the humor, the action - it's all just so good.
4. Logan. Deadpool and Wolverine was lots of fun and my personal favorite of the 3 films, but Logan just still hits me harder emotionally. Seeing a character we watched over a decade grow old in such a visceral way while also introducing his child who was so full of life was just a perfect ending for the character.
5. Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Still a top tier film that hits just as much no matter how many times I rewatch it. Making this a spy thriller instead of a straight up comic book film is the single best thing the Russos have ever done.
6. Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse. Was top 5 until the second movie surpassed it for me, which I didn't even think was possible, but this one is still very close to perfection. The introduction of Miles into cinema with that groundbreaking animation was the coolest thing ever
7. Thor. The OG movie still ranks very high for me, I love how different it is in theme and tone still from the rest of the mcu, the Shakespearean vibes it captured have yet to be repeated since.
8. X-Men First Class. I go back and forth between this one and Days of Future Past as being my favorites of the fox X-Men franchise, but I'm going with first class bc it was such a breath of fresh air after the original trilogy
9. Captain Marvel. This may be recency bias bc I just watched it the other day, but this movie is still criminally underrated IMO. The Carol/Fury buddy comedy dynamic is so good, and the Carol/Maria relationship is one of the best of mcu. I'll never get why people hate this movie so much
10. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Probably the biggest surprise on this list, but this is the one I rewatch the most. I think the humor in this one lands for me better than vol. 1 and 3, and the introduction of Mantis just adds so much to the overall group.
Honorable mention to: Black Panther 2, Deadpool and Wolverine, Iron Man 3, Ant-man and the Wasp, Spider-Man 2, Blade 2, Fantastic Four, and The New Mutants!
as we ready ourselves to watch three season of 'high school is hell' plz talk to me about your high school experience. were u a nerd were u popular were u bullied did u do clubs or or or?
WHAT A BIG QUESTION
My answer is mostly boring though lol, my high school experience was pretty chill. Unlike tv's depiction of high school, my school didn't really have much drama, at least none that I was personally involved in. There weren't very many cliques - like the football players tended to hang out together, and some of the cheerleaders, or people who were in certain clubs together. But for the most part everyone just hung out with either people who lived in their neighborhood, or friends that they grew up with from childhood.
I switched schools after my freshman year because my family had moved, so that was the hardest transition for me, since I was the new kid in school, so I had to make new friends because all of my old friends were back in my old neighborhood. The good thing though is that my first high school had 2500+ kids, so it was always crowded, but my second only had around 1200, so it was a much more chill experience. I was pretty quiet and shy so I mostly kept to myself, but I did always had one or two close friends every year that I hung out with and had the same classes with.
I didn't do any clubs or attend any school events except for senior prom, and mostly because everyone told me I couldn't go my whole high school career without attending at least one event, so I decided prom would be my first and last. But I had broken up with my girlfriend about a month before prom, so I ended up going with two friends of mines. It wasn't a bad time but it wasn't really great either lol, I got there late because I missed my ride and so I didn't get to spend much time there. The best part was out going out for post prom food at a local dinner at 2 am. But that's my high school experience in a nutshell!
what are your top 10 favorite film releases of 2024 THUS FAR?
Oooh this is gonna be tough, I have so many 4+ star contenders this year!
Dune 2
Challengers
Monkey Man
Música
Bad Boys 4
Hit Man
Alien Romulus
Deadpool & Wolverine
Lisa Frankenstein
The Bikeriders
what are youR top 10 favorite entirely noncanon ships? NOT A SINGLE KISS YOU CAN RECALL ON PAGE OR SCREEN LEVEL NONCANON
WOW OK WE'RE GONNA GIVE THIS THE FULL GIF TREATMENT
1. Joan/Sherlock (Elementary)
My all time number one otp, and I never needed it to be canon or official. We had soooo many amazing and intimate shippy moments that it more than suffices. "YOU NAMED A BEE AFTER ME!!" "I'M BETTER WITH YOU”
2. Loki/Sif (MCU)
My number two that also shared maybe 15 mins together on screen across 3 movies and one season of tv, they never shared a kiss, but we built an entire fandom over a decade long off of glances, glares, and a knee to the crotch (not to mention a good comic and mythology history)
3. Finn/Poe (Star Wars)
Look, I knew Disney was never gonna give it to us and I made my peace with it. But that still didn't stop me from shipping it like burning. They are my number two SW ship after Leia/Han, which is the highest praise I can give
4. Zuko/Katara (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
I'm a multi-shipper so I never got into the ship wars the rest of the fandom has been fighting for over a decade now. I love Aang x Katara and Zuko x Mai, but for otp purposes it's always been Zutara. Almost a perfect enemies to lovers arc
5. Frank/Karen (The Punisher)
I'm counting this one since we never got an on screen kiss, just a pressed forehead moment. But everything else about their dynamic is so so good, there's just something about a person who will go feral and ultra violent in defense of the person they love that always hits
6. Mike/Harvey (Suits)
The most recent non canon ship to achieve otp status, I can't believe a lawyer show from the USA Network produced such a high quality ship, but I was in on them from episode one and never looked back. They have an all time great dynamic that gets stronger with each season and somehow gets stronger with one character leaving the show
7. Galadriel/Halbrand-Sauron (The Rings of Power)
Another recent addition, I'm such trash for everything they got going on. Another perfect enemies to lovers setup, even if the show never makes it canon I'm already good with everything we've gotten so far, from the de facto engagement ring and "be my dark queen" marriage proposal to him living rent free in her mind s2, it's all soooo good
8. Raleigh/Mako (Pacific Rim)
Sometimes it's hard for a ship from a standalone movie to reach otp status for me, just because of the lack of material, but this is one of the stronger ones that really hits for me. Them being "drift compatible" spawned a whole new fandom term for ships and au fics, it's such a perfect term to explain that dynamic
9. Troy/Abed (Community)
There's no way anyone who watched even a little bit of Community didn't come away believing they were boyfriends. The show even makes several jokes about it and it's accepted by their romantic partners on the show that they are in fact each other's true partner and soulmate
10. Korra x Asami (The Legend of Korra)
I knew we'd never get a canon queer ship on a Nickelodeon show, but this was still the closest we got and their relationship still outsold so many canon ships. I still can't believe we went from a tired Mako x Korra x Asami love triangle to a "You know what, actually they're gay" ship during the show, but it was perfect
when you look at your favorite characters, what patterns can you see? what character types do you tend to gravitate towards?
Ahhhh such a big question!
Ok I think probably the biggest through line in most of my favs are characters who WANT to do good. And who try to do good in the world, and keep trying even if they fail. Characters who may be rough around the edges but are pure of heart. I also gravitate towards characters who may be awkward or not fit in but always end up being well loved and showing their worth in unique ways.
I think in my younger days I was into like snarky and dick-ish characters but as I've grown older, I appreciate characters who actually have conviction and are beacons of positivity in the face of all the darkness and cynicism in the world ✨
now that we have finished watching dollhouse!!!!! what were your top 5 favorite episodes? and who were your top 5 favorite characters?
WHAT A WILD AND FUN RIDE! My favs changed a bit over the course of watching but I think I settled in a good place.
Top 5 episodes:
Ok I think I nailed down my top 5!
1. 108 Needs
2. 109 A Spy in the House
3. 212 The Hollow Men
4. 206 The Left Hand
5. 110 Haunted
Top 5 characters:
1. Priya
2. Tony
3. Topher
4. Adelle
5. Echo
plz talk to me about your favorite things about dollhouse season 1. characters or episodes or themes or engagements or or or
Oooh so much to cover!!!
-Ok so firstly I really enjoy the premise of the show as a whole, and having these people who sign up to have their bodies used for 5 years for whatever purpose and they won't remember any of it. Like all the practical and ethical concerns about that are really fascinating, and I think once you get past the first few episodes it really picks up.
what are your favoritest ship tropes to witness in action, whether you're watching or reading?
YESSSSS LET'S GET INTO IT
-Fake dating/Pretend marrieds will always be my favoritest of jams. There's just something about two people who aren't aware they have feelings for each other until the moment they start pretending to be a couple, and then you get that "uh oh, I'm falling for them" moment and SHIT GETS REAL
-Hurt/Comfort is always great but more specifically I also love when there's a lot of angst over the person being hurt and the person who comforts them also goes feral for revenge against those who harmed their partner
-Fuck first/feelings later is soooo underrated and such a top tier trope. As much as I love pining at times, I equally love ships that fuck first without feelings attached and then have to deal with the mess of feelings that come later. We don't always have to wait til the end or until things are official for them to get physical
-Star-crossed is another all time fav, I adore ships that relentlessly find each other across lifetimes, universes, and timelines. I consider the red string of fate to also be a sibling of this trope!
-Begging/Groveling, especially when one of the characters really fucked up in a major way and not only has to beg but grovel and prove their worthy of redemption. A bonus if they make it up in the bedroom
-Breakups are another underrated trope that a lot of people hate but I love a lot. There's so much drama and angst to explore from the fallout, and you get to see how they handle the breakup individually and the delicious pining from them wanting to get back together. Also, make up sex
-Love confessions are my jam, especially when it's a character baring their soul and putting themselves completely out there and willing to accept the consequences
plz share with me ur top 5 characters/ships/things of any sort from the buffyverse
Ok so I'm not a seasoned buffyverse member yet but going off mostly the few seasons I watched and FACES

3. Buffy x Kendra
4. Dawn x Tara
5. Buffy x Cordy
WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR MOST DIVISIVE TV OPINIONS OF 2024? I'LL START. I REALLY LIKED ATLA NETFLIX
Ooh that's shocking! I've yet to watch so no judgement from me lol
Honestly 2024 has been a good tv year for me, at least from what I've decided to watch so far! Lots of good shows either new or rewatched and very few complaints. Tho I did notably skip out on Bridgerton s3, The Boys s4, and Umbrella Academy s4 so far!
My most controversial opinion is that I found The Bear s3 very tedious and didn't bother to finish it. I probably will at some point but the quality has dropped significantly for me since s1
top 10 favorite vampire characters?
Ahhhh what a crucial question and decision!
top 10 favorite buffyverse characters?
Oooh it's been so long since I watched but just going off the top of my head:
Buffy
Cordelia
Dawn
Angel
Giles
Kendra
Tara
Faith
Willow
Xander
oooooooooh who are your top 10 favorite fictional lawyers?
This is gonna be Suits dominant bc it's the most recent lawyer thing I just watched, but they're also deserving!!
1. Harvey Specter
2. Jessica Pearson
3. Mike Ross
4. Rachel Zane
5. Katrina Bennett
6. Matt Murdock
7. Foggy Nelson
8. Annalise Keating
9. Elle Woods
10. Jennifer Walters
what are your top 10 favorite ships that were ALREADY TOGETHER when whatever they're canon in first introduced them
I only came up with seven, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some obvious ones!
Scott x Jean - X-Men
Wash x Zoe - Firefly
Disa x Durin - Rings of Power
Brad x Jane - Happy Endings
Spock x T' Pring - Star Trek
Blink x Thunderbird - The Gifted
Nomi x Amanita - Sense8
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 5 FAVORITE TV HOMES?
OOH YES FUN
I know I'm probably forgetting some great ones but off the top of my head:
1. The Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters - X-Men
2. The Hargreeves mansion - The Umbrella Academy
3. The Pirate Ship Revenge - OFMD (I know it's a boat but it's also a home so I'm counting it)
4. Titans Tower - Titans
5. Arnold's loft - Hey Arnold
AFTER THIS, YOUR FIRST WATCH, TOTALLY SUBJECT TO CHANGE- what is your favorite season of suits and what is your least favorite season of suits?
Ahhh this is so tough! I'm tempted to say season 4 for my favorite?? You had the Harvey and Mike dynamic flipping, with Harvey working for Mike which was a lot of fun. The Logan/Rachel stuff was spicy, and you had the firm uniting to fight against Cahill. Also the Mike/Rachel engagement, and Jessica/Jeff relationship.
I think for least favorite I'd go with season 8??? Like I still loved a lot of the high points of season 8, but there was so much there was frustrating. Sam didn't make a great first impression, and the Brian/Katrina stuff left a sour taste. Plus the first full season without Mike and Rachel. But I did enjoy the Mike mentions, and Alex being a full time cast member!
