It dawned on me as I was listening to evermore earlier that if Taylor is bi, like I think she is, she writes out and incorporates her gay fantasies in her songs. It makes sense in context with so many of her songs being queer coded and written with ambiguous pronouns. She lives her life seemingly straight, in a long term relationship with a man, and with all of her previously confirmed relationships having been with men, but in her songs she gets to write her little gay fantasies where she frequently (at least lately) have affairs with women while married to men and thinks back upon the innocent crushes on childhood friends. She claims them as fiction with fictional characters, and yet it's fiction with self-inserts and deep rooted desires built into it.
