Have you seen the movie Eraserhead (1977) by David Lynch? In my opinion, it´s really Lynch´s masterpiece. I really liked the setting, music, sounds, acting, the atmosphere was perfect. My favourite scene is with the lady in the radiator, when she sings In Heaven (Everything is fine). Even through its weirdness (of Lynch´s style), it has a very good thought: Irresponsibility when man is young and subsequent fear of fatherhood.
I have not, but I liked what I’ve seen of Lynch’s filmography so far. We need more of his type of surrealism in modern media. I’m tired of watching stuff with humdrum atmospheres.
I’ve been a casual Dune book fan since middle school, so I was excited when I got to watch the movie. It’s weird and dated, which is a good thing! I don’t want to watch a sci fi movie that takes place thousands of years in the future just to have people act and talk normally.
Blue Velvet had a weirdass villain and Kyle MacLachlan nude. Actually, he’s like 25% of the reason why I like Lynch so much, probably.
I watched Twin Peaks last year and liked it a lot, primarily the first season. It’s so genre busting. Now I gotta get my hands on The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer, Fire Walk with Me, etc.
