Thoughts on Fritz from "Frankenstein" (1931)? I know everyone has a crush on Dwight Frye as Renfield in "Dracula" (1931), myself included, but I admit, Fritz ain't bad either!

It took me a while to get around to watching Dracula even after reading it. SHAME. Even though I like Gothic literature and vampire media in general. If you haven’t seen it already, I recommend checking out the Spanish language version Drácula that was also released in 1931.

Also, Universal Monsters: A Legacy of Horror. I read it earlier this year and I still need to finish watching the rest of the Universal Monsterverse.

Anyway, Fritz is kinda cute. And doesn’t eat live bugs. Even though he was super mean to the Monster. If I were there, I’d let him torment ME. 🤪 I have scoliosis so we could commiserate over our curved spines lol.

Is Count Dracula (version of your choice) fuckable?

Avatar

I'm going with the classic - Bela Lugosi's version. Although tbh most of the versions of Dracula I've seen have been pretty hot.

ask game: Is this character fuckable?

repulsive | no | just a hug | kissable | maybe | down to cuddle | yes | absolutely | Take Me Now

i’d top them | i’d bottom for them

i’d dom them | i’d sub for them

one night stand | fuckbuds | partner | marry me

Send me a character and I'll let you know if I think they're fuckable!

Have you seen the Spanish language version of the 1931 film? Conde Drácula is a really fun character, though I don’t find him as enticing as Legosula. Or Claes Bang’s Dracula. Bangula.

Count Suckula Suckfest

After watching the one with Bela Legosi, we watched the Spanish language version of DraculaDrácula. It was filmed at the same time by Universal, just earlier in the day. And it should be just as popular! It’s funnier, utilizes the sets better, and the actors are more expressive.

Instead of reviewing it, I’m just going to post commentary from the relative I watched it with and myself. Guess which ones I said:

  • “It the dungeon. Or crypt. Look, it’s the bee.” “I think that’s a Jerusalem cricket.” “Really?” *Conde Drácula gets out of coffin* “Look, it’s the mist. I bet he smells awful.” “That’s a steam bath.”
  • “He’s a goth. He’s the OG goth.” “HAHAHA. He certainly looks funnier than Bella [sic] Lugosi.”
  • “‘Have some of my Cheerwine, Sr. Renfield.’”
  • *dinner at Castillo Drácula* “I thought that was chicken at first.” “Me too.” “[It’s] stale-ass bread.”
  • Dracula: “I am only taking three boxes.” “One’s a tampon box… [The door] looks kind of yonic.”
  • “Bang, bang, bang went the- No! Fang, fang, fang went the trolley~”
  • “There’s the steam bath, as you called it.” “Remember when Sting came out of the steam high as a kite in Dune? Yeah, it’s exactly like that.”
  • “When does the Babadook show up?” *Drácula appears in a top hat* “Oh my God, there he is.”
  • *Renfield laughs uproariously at the Seward Sanitarium* “Reminds me of me when I was a child.”
  • “Martín looks like a milk man.”
  • *on Renfield* “I think he has a protein deficiency and that’s why he acts like that and the milk man should help him.”
  • *Renfield clings to a chair and shudders* “Aw, reminds me of when [our dog] shakes during a thunderstorm. Not around wolves, though, probably. She’d try to befriend them.”
  • *Eva is revealed to have bite marks* “To be honest, I would be more worried about rabies than becoming a vampire.” *later* “Do you think Drácula is vaccinated?”
  • Drácula: “Aren’t you feeling well?” “You know I’m not, bitch.”
  • *Dracula asks for Seward’s forgiveness after throwing the mirrored cigarette box* “He is ugly and he is not proud.”
  • *points to Juan* “Look at his knickerbockers. Like he’s going to go golfing.” “Those are his night britches. His night knickerbockers. His nightbockers, if you will.”
  • *Renfield guffaws* “There he goes-” “There he goes again!” “-heckling away.”
  • *Seward is scared for Eva* “His [sperm] count is low. He can’t make another one.”
  • *Juan tries to comfort Eva* “Ew, she’s wearing shoes on the furniture.”
  • *Drácula goes into Eva’s room* “Oh God, it’s that per/vert from the ballet.”

First pound cake attempt turned out better than expected. Saber-tooth tiger. 😻 Right now I’m off sweets until Father’s Day, though. I want to make pound cake then too, but maybe with blue- or cranberries. This time I might also use yogurt instead of sour cream and add more sugar, because I only used half as much as the recipe called for.

My elliptical is still broke. I can’t seem to find its manual online so I might just need to contact the company. But even if I managed to fix the elliptical tomorrow it can’t be used because my ankle’s sprained. So I started swimming again. The new goggles I got are cute, but they suck. Thankfully the swim cap doesn’t make me look like one of the guys from Hostel: Part II. (Planning to watch the third one on Netflix next week.)

I found out Boxer-Pointer mixes are called “Boxapoints.” BABY BOXAPOINT.

Speaking of pools and dogs, make sure to bring your dogs’ water bowls inside at night. Because mosquitos will lay eggs in them. That happened to our inflatable pool when I was a kid and we had to throw it out. :(

Fortunately, since using a lavender Febreze plug-in, there’s been barely any bugs in the house. At least, compared to how many are usually in the house when it’s warm out.

I’m thinking of just doing weekly update posts, to keep track of movies. Last one was Spider-Man: No Way Home. Villain crossover. 🤤

To watch:

  • Hostel: Part III
  • Scream 5
  • Dracula 1931 (‘Cause this ask made me realize I’d never seen it.)
