Animalgamation #2 - Cuttloper (based on cuttlefish / caribou). Entire herds of this creature can be found on beaches in cold climates. If startled, they immediately head for the water and disappear under the waves until the coast is clear. Suggested by survivingcanberra!
I hope they don’t entirely disappear. I hope they keep their nostrils and head crests out of the water, like hippos, looking at you suspiciously. And if you start wading into the water, they cuttlefish away from you backwards, noodling their appendages, and then look at you suspiciously again.
I've been thinking a lot about water dragons but that are like, manta rays? Dragon rays? Manta dragons? Does this have potential or no???
I THINK IT DOES YEAH
single manta ray dragons are often found hiding among schools of actual mantas, and usually its only their head shape when seen from above that gives them away. despite the name, their similarities to actual manta rays are mostly superficial - instead of filter feeding, theyre avid hunters that use short bursts of speed to catch fish unawares, and they can be fiercely territorial about the schools of rays they swim with
( they ended up looking really similar to skyweiners whale shark dragons h h hah a)

As a cat owner, this is radical
Trying to imagine a version of Jurassic Park / World where the dinosaurs were actual theropod-frog hybrids, instead of scaleless dinosaurs stuck in the early 1990s. Here is the hybrid killer dinosaur “Indominus,” with its great-white-shark-sized, armoured tadpole. If the makers of the Jurassic Park series have thrown scientific accuracy out of the window, they may as well have some extra fun by going all the way with monster dinosaur/frog mash-ups that have all the monster-y superpowers of amphibians.
Hang on a minute…
Shouldn’t all mermaids be fat?
Mermaids are probably mammals, because of their visible breast tissue and horizontal tail fins.
Aquatic mammals need to have developed a thick layer of subcutaneous fat in order to survive in water. Even in a hot climate, swimming in water the whole time would require fatty insulation.
So… chubby mermaids. Yeah.
Keep reblogging this, it is making male mermaid enthusiasts angry.
