What would the parents would do with the fall activities?

Frederic and Arianna organize a festival. Corona is a party kingdom, after all. I headcanon that Corona celebrates the equinoxes and solstices, so the festival falls around September 21st.

Captain isn't a particularly celebratory guy, and when he was Captain, he used to be working on festival days. Now, he's enjoying not having to work.

Quirin, on the other hand, is in the middle of his busy season. Even more than Varian, he's in the midst of the harvest. He's got some festive decorations that he pulls out of storage for his stall, which draws people in. He's the primary pumpkin supplier to the kingdom, after all!

Unfortunately for King Edmund, he hasn't celebrated anything in twenty-five years. He's kind of forgotten how. Good thing for him, his son and future daughter-in-law live in the party kingdom and can help him out!

What do you think are the top ten best hugs in the show?

Avatar

Ooooh, fun question! It's gonna be hard to narrow it down to ten, but I'll give it a shot!

Well... here's ten. I can't promise they're actually my favorites, but I do like these. There were a lot I cut and I know I didn't look at every single hug in the series before picking these.

I'm obviously a fan of composition and emotion. X3

You may have already answered this so apologies if you have (and feel free to ignore.)

Do you think Adira knew who Eugene was when she met him? I feel like realistically she wouldn’t, because she only ever saw him as an infant; but at the same time it is a cartoon and knowing her, she may have put it together and theorized it at some point.

And, do you think Varian ever met Adira and/or Hector? Or at least knew of them? He didn’t know about the Brotherhood but I imagine Adira likely met him a some point considering she knew who he was. And she seems like someone who would want to meet her Nephew. However I can’t imagine he ever met Hector.

(I find the mental image of Adira watching the battle in Old Corona go down and just being like “huh my nephew has spunk” and just eating an apple as it all goes down, very funny.)

Also sorry for spamming your inbox lately, I just adore you and your blog.

I have answered this before, so I'll be brief: no, I don't think she recognized him. I think if she did, she'd have made something of it. She had ample opportunity, and I feel like it would mean so much to her to have found him that she might have kept it to herself for a while, but not forever. She did reveal, after all, that she knew that Varian is Quirin's son.

Also, yeah, not only was he an infant the last time she saw him, that was literally 25 years before. I sincerely doubt she'd have any idea what he looked like as an adult. Brown hair and eyes aren't exactly uncommon.

Qurin literally kept his past in a box that he never touched to the point that it was dusty. I don't think Varian ever met them before the finale, nor knew they existed. He didn't even know Quirin was a knight in another kingdom. Adira was looking for the Sundrop, I don't see her casually dropping in on Quirin.

Call me boring or whatever but I don't get much thrill out of imagining that the more mysterious characters in the series ever interacted with the less mysterious characters before the series began.

Does Corona have a "noble class" or is it just the royal family in Corona? In the island capital we mostly see merchant type people but every so often you also see more dressed up looking people in the background. Are outside royal guests? Part of corona noble class? Do they run anything like Quirin in Old Corna? Is Quirin technically a "noble" like a count or a baron? We have a character called "the Baron" that's a crime lord. Is that his rank or his moniker? Is he part of Corona at all?

Avatar

It has a noble class. We have Dame Elizabeth Van Hoskins and James Rutherford-Carver.

Yes, they're arriving by carriage, but it's not like the palace isn't up on the top of the hill. Nobility doesn't walk when it doesn't have to.

But, yeah, there's the Ruling Class (the royal family), the Noble Class (several of the people we see in the background both during this movie and occasionally during the series), the Merchant Class (most of the people we see in Corona, who are commoners but highly respected), and the lower class (usually represented by criminals).

Tangled isn't very good at nuance.

Edit: I just realized I didn't address the Baron or Quirin.

He is coded as a Mob Boss, and while I believe the Baron is just a nickname for him, I also think Vardaros is a barony, which doesn't have to be connected directly to a kingdom, and he used that to influence his nickname. It's outside of Corona's borders, though.

Quirin is a farmer, so that automatically makes him not a noble. Nobles would be in charge of the farms, owning the land that the farmers work. He's more like the elected leader of the village (though I suspect he was less elected and more assigned by Frederic as "payment" for keeping quiet about the back rocks).

I created the base for a Brotherhood picture, and couldn't make up my mind about which style to go with. I did two different completed pieces. Here's the first. A stained glass style drawing.

My other idea is in the style of the show, with each member of the Brotherhood associated with a different season of the year. That picture is available to my patrons on patreon
