You’ve probably heard this question but do you think willow should have been in any the episodes in season 2 or 3 to help Rapunzel on her journey or adventures?
I sure do! It's kinda weird to me that Willow was in one episode, then went to wander the world, and while Rapunzel was also wandering the world, their paths didn't cross. It would have been the perfect excuse to bring her back in, plus it would have been nice to see if she'd actually learned anything from her previous encounter with Arianna.
(Granted, it would kind of suck to expose Rapunzel to a Willow who hadn't changed at all, and expect the nineteen-year-old to be the adult between the two of them.)
Do you like that Rapunzel bears an identical resemblance to Ariana? Or would you have preferred her to be more of a blend of both parents? I know that it’s common for female characters to resemble their mothers due to it being easier to have mothers and daughters look alike then make new designs, but I can’t help but feel that Rapunzel’s strong resemblance to Ariana was done with more of a deeper meaning then most mother-daughter look-alikes.
I feel like Rapunzel's resemblance to Arianna was so that she would be undeniably her daughter at a glance, to anyone who knew what Arianna looked like really well. And for that, I have no problem with it.
I actually like that the series carried this forward and had Willow strongly resemble her, too. Sometimes genetics just be like that.
No, my real complaint with Arianna's design is that Disney is allergic to making women look older than 30 unless they're either a villain or a grandma. Arianna should have obviously greying hair (it's greying at the end of the movie, but they got rid of that for the series) and fine lines. She's spent the last 18 years stressed out of her gourd. You're telling me all that stress wouldn't give her grey hair and wrinkles, like Frederic has?
What more background characters would you have liked to see more of? I'd liked to have seen more of Xavier and Faith.
I would classify Xavier and Faith as side characters. Background characters are more like that Black lady we often see in Corona who never has any lines. (Except the sung ones about the kittens in "I've Got This.")
But as for your question, Xavier would be an interesting focus, and, quite frankly, Arianna. She was definitely delegated to side character, rather than secondary character. Willow, too.
Okay how about an opposite question for fun, what additions in TTS do you consider to be so good that you consider them canon?
Lance Strongbow
Eugene's past with The Baron and Stalyan (though the timeline needs tweaking. Also, his canonical past. I don't consider the events of The Rise of Flynn Rider remotely canonical.)
Frederic and Arianna's names (though those have been retconned as canon)
Willow
Pascal and Rapunzel met because he climbed her tower while escaping a predator when they were both young (it's actually been a long-standing headcanon of mine, though originally I headcanoned it as a hawk that was chasing him)
Queen Arianna celebrates her birthday with her daughter... and her younger sister, Willow.

This will be the last chapter we post until September. The main reason is that the following three chapters make up our S1 finale and are all still in editing. We want to make sure we can maintain the two-weekly updates for our S1 finale, and we figured it would be better to take a 6-week posting break here instead of right in the middle of posting it. This short break now will also allow us to get ahead more into S2 as well.

Ever wonder before if hector dates rapunzel's single aunt?
No.
I remember you asking me shippy questions back in the day about Willow. I still don't ship her with anyone.
Do you wish willow to be your aunt?
No, Willow is, like, my age.
Besides, my aunts are all rad as it is. One of them is a literal witch. Another one housed me for the summer when I was 5 so I could spend time with my favorite cousin. The last one is my favorite coworker.

As I’ve been reposting a bunch of my art to Tumblr, I was going to post these for Tangled’s anniversary, but missed it by a day! Oh, well. A couple of years ago, some members of the fandom decided to do a Tangled challenge for Art April, and I thought I’d give it a shot! These are my entries, batch 1 of 3: 1. Favourite character - Rapunzel 2. Favourite friendship - Kiera & Catalina 3. Ship you wish happened but didn’t - Lance & Caviar Lance 4. Favourite outfit of the series - Willow 5. Character we saw but didn’t meet - Fitzmom 6. Brock Thunderstrike in a non-Flynn Rider look 7. Favourite mother figure - Queen Arianna 8. Favourite father figure - Lance 9. Favourite thief - Seraphina 10. Favourite villain - Lady Caine
How do you feel about Rapunzel's Aunt Willow? I personally found her a bit off as a character. Also I was not sure what her debut episode was supposed to make me feel toward her. From Arianna's perspective Willow is flighty and inconsiderate/irresponsible. Are we supposed to see her that way too? Was Arianna being too sensitive? Aunt Willow just seems odd as a character.
I like Willow. I actually with they'd done more with her, so we could have gotten to know her better.
Honestly, I'm a younger sister, but also an adult, so I could easily see both sides of the argument. It's both that Willow is flighty and inconsiderate/irresponsible and that Arianna was being too sensitive, and Rapunzel was sort of the middle ground between them.
This was a rare instance where the story's focus was on Arianna, attempting to develop her as a character, but they didn't do enough with it. If we'd gotten even more about her through the course of the series, then I'm sure "The Way of the Willow" would have slotted in more neatly.
Did you have any headcanon names for the king and queen before the series came around? Like how Trevor was originally Duke Ambrose in A Soggy Request before the series introduced the former?
(I loved the fic, btw, and how you characterized both the queen and king there! Their interactions were hilarious and adorable. Thank you so much for bringing them to life!)
P.S.: Was the queen's teasing sister originally a background character then, too?
Oh gosh, thanks! I'm glad you enjoy that little one-shot!
Back in the day, I called them King Henry and Queen Annabelle. And, no, Willow was always Willow in that fic. When I originally conceived of the story concept, years before the series came out, there was no sister figure, but by the time I actually wrote it down, I knew Willow, so I included her. I’ve just always liked the name Ambrose, so I knew that would be the other suitor’s name (until Trevor came along).
Hey do you have any headcanons about Eugene and Willow actually interacting? I don’t think anyone considers the little screen time they had together “interacting.” Man, I’d really love to see them talk about Rapunzel, and Willow wanting to get to know her niece’s love interest
I think Eugene would like her. She's the "fun aunt," very friendly and likeable (judging by the number of friends she has among the guards and palace staff), so I can see him enjoying her company (especially if she called him a looker, which I can see her doing), just so long as her carefree, lackadaisical attitude didn't put him, Rapunzel, and/or the kingdom in danger (again).
I can easily a friendship with them turning south if he started to feel like he had to babysit a woman nearly twice his age.
I thought Willow was the younger sibling? It made more sense to me especially with the parallel with Cassandra, older and more reserved, and Rapunzel, a younger free-spirit.
She is. I typoed. Arianna is the older sister, Willow is the younger sister. (And the original post is edited.)
