I feel like the Dolby Atmos track for the new 4K remaster of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984) is even better than the ones for the Halloween films!

Great overhead usage and environmental sounds!

The 7.1 mix was good upmixed but this is next level stuff!

I like the usage of 3D sound in this to convey background room sounds like insects, birds, and appliances like air conditioning to make you feel like you're really hearing the environments in yours!

We watched that new Ghost in the Shell (1995) 4K + Dolby Atmos remastering and I'm happy to report that it's better than the reviews implied it was. Especially in the sound department..  They made it seem like the Atmos wasn't used very much but that's not accurate..

On our system we noticed quite a bit of elevation channel usage during especially the times when they needed it the most.   This includes during much of the scenes where dialog is done via mind over network communication... they use it to make it seem like the voices are...Omnidirectional, or in your head...

Also, much of the proper ambient sounds where mixed into the height channels.  Also, I even suggest to listen all the way through the credits because the music there sounded great. As far as the image quality goes it seems noticeable sharper on the scenes that they could remaster from film and the colours look better than in the previous 4K master we had which looked more like an upscale.

All in all this seems a worthy upgrade and gets my seal of approval

Rogue One, a good title in 4K with Dolby Atmos

I'm happy to report that there are some films released by Disney that don't suffer from too much usage of digital noise removal and poor Dolby Atmos mixing.

Rogue One is one such film. It didn't start out too promising but as it went on it proved it'self to be one of the better sounding release I have watched so far here at home in Dolby Atmos.

Quick example, when they had landed on a planet that was raining and the rain hit the roof of the space ship you could hear the patter of the rain above you hitting it much like when you are in a vehicle in real life and the rain is hitting the roof!

The image quality is rather good too. It looks filmic enough in 4K and the dynamic range pops here on our 4K screen. Which is interesting because it looked too dim when I watched it with my family at our local multiplex. The sound wasn't as spectacular as what we heard tonight believe it or not.
