The Kama Arcade

@tamara-kama

I'm a cyberpunk queen who's obsessed with novelties, interior design and video games. If you need someone to talk about cinema, I'm your gal!

If Arcade 1UP or some of the other home arcade manufacturers ever make a home Smash TV they should base it off this 19" version since an XL sized home arcade would use the same size of monitor! This would be ideal to go next to what I already have like my KI!

I've added the Nintendo 64 era logos to the side panels of my KI cabinet's control panel! 💜😁🕹️👍🏻

Looked too blank and incomplete without them IMHO

The most challenging thing about applying these is deciding upon the alignment

But I tried to make sure they are more or less symmetrical

I included a pic of a vintage KI cabinet for reference

Oh my, I've really outdone myself tonight. Basically I did Eyedol's infinite combo on my KI Pro cabinet until time ran out.. well over 80-hits (KI stops counting at 80 but still gives you points) and I've moved up to 3rd place on the online leaderboards!

A notable thing is that I used the Suzo Happ Ultimate joysticks that some people say are rubbish and that everyone should just replace with Industrius Lorenzo Eurosticks.. if that was true I wouldn't be able to do this.. especially if it worked as bad as it apparently did for some people where they couldn't even do basic special moves with it!

I think I found the ideal cabinet for me to make my own shooting cabinet for the Kama Arcade..

I'd customize it to look like a HOTD1 machine and have a better inline riser made for it and add all my own personal touches to it that'd made it look better..

Things like designing a vinyl wrap for it that's as close as I can possibly get to the original full sized machine.. use the right colors for all the lining on it like black above and below the marquee and add a coin door to the kick plate that has light up coin return buttons..

The original machine I'd style it after.. I'd probably even make some changes to it's layout to be more like this..

Just saying but I think these pics show how slim the arcade1up 3/4 scale machines already were..

Look at how I have to pull the MK machine forward a few inches to line up the control panel with my KI Pro machine which is XL size..

Also look at how well the sideart fits with this thickness although it's still noticeably slimmer than a full size MK cabinet.. it wouldn't fit that well with an even slimmer cab..

Time Traveler (1991) was a “stereographic” laserdisc-based arcade game manufactured by Sega and designed by Dragon’s Lair creator Rick Dyer. It was called the “World’s First Holographic Video Game” but the holographic" effect was a simple optical illusion using a large curved mirror and a CRT display.

This is cool but the machines are too close together when you can't play the first or last players without getting in the way of The House of the Dead.. in fact.. it looks like THOTD is blocking those player controls!

I added a smart light strip behind the Killer Instinct machine today! 💜🕹️👍🏻

This is why I have my Street Fighter II and Killer Instinct cabinets spaced out like I do.. there's an AC unit between them... 😛🕹️💜

I setup the new Killer Instinct machine today! 💜😁👍🏻🕹️

A thing I had to do right off the bat is the same thing I did with my MK machine and change the color of the t-molding above and below the marquee to black
