i like how loid, even in the role as anya's parent and ultimate authority figure, always treats anya as a person. he takes her wants into consideration (like when she says she doesnt want to go to school if she cant have a dog, he takes her seriously and never considers forcing her) and when she asks to do thinks on her own (with supervision and realistically) he obliges. anya, who was treated as the property and as a sub-human at the beginning of her life, to be adopted and returned by people trying to control her. and loid, who never sees her as anything other than a human being.
Twilight’s debilitating inability to rely on others (immovable object) vs Yor’s insatiable need to be useful to others (unstoppable force)
