I want one so bad.
Avatar: The Last Airbender → live action and as it should have been
Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony. Then everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished…
Magnificent
Found an IG account full of stolen art without credit of many Destiny Artist I know, mine included
Just terrible
A cartoon from the Detroit News shows Woodrow Wilson attempting to arbitrate between European nations, represented here as squabbling babies, with his Fourteen Points. To Americans, the Fourteen Points epitomized America’s mature and modern democracy compared to an anarchic, archaic Europe. Many Allied leaders, on the other hand, felt the Fourteen Points were another example of American arrogance and high-handedness in situations they did not understand. Upon hearing about the Fourteen Points, French Premier Clemenceau joked sarcastically that “The Good Lord had only ten.”
This is based on the tai chi sensitivity training exercise called tui shou (pushing hands). It was mentioned in the show after katara threw a piece of leek at Aang and he subsequently cut it in half with waterbending that he had the reflexes of a waterbending master. Since water-bending is bases on tai chi I was not surprised to see this implemented.
Scenes like this is why I love this show. It effortlessly integrates various cultures, styles of martial arts and eastern philosophy in a coherent way.

Kung Fu Girl’s Daily Life
Cool stuff
One student came to a martial arts master and asked the question: “Teacher, I’ve been studying with you for three months. I’m curious how much time I still need to train to become a master? ”. “Five years,” the mentor replied. “For five years?” But this is very much! And if I give training every day half a day? “ "Then ten years,” replied the master. “Ten years?! What if I do all day? ” “Then twenty years,” the master said with a smile. “But the teacher! Why do you keep increasing the duration of studies? ” “Because you think only about the result,” the master replied, “you are focused solely on it and forget about everything else. Do not just think about it. Gradually and constantly learn technique, and skill will come to you. Work on yourself, but do not overexert yourself - and strength will come. Set goals, but do not think only about the result, and it will come of itself. Everything should happen naturally. The one who pulls the shoots runs the risk of being left without a crop. ”
This is some zen stuff rite here
From my trip to Costa Rica back in August.
The similarity is uncanny. I know it is based on bagua but daaaaaaaaamn it could not be a more perfect match.

This is awesome. Need kids to all be that badass.
I realise as a tai chi practitioner my viability in actual combat is very low. This, however, is not as a result of tai chi being an ineffective method of combat in and of itself but is a result in my own complacency. The martial artist’s own priority is to be able to defend themself. Regardless of the means. Some long time practitioners take pride in their purity. Having only practiced the purest style, untouched by modern influences. As a tai chi practitioner of yang style myself I have witnessed this in myself and among a few of my peers.
I would like to make the suggestion that any practitioners of martial arts regardless of style dabble in another martial art. HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING If you lack grappling skills since you do boxing take up wrestling or kickboxing to round yourself out. This is just one example and I expect the martial artist to have a certain amount of self reflection and self awareness to make these judgements themself. If you feel as though you are not skilled enough in your current art to take on this added challenge . It is entirely up to you wether or not you want to do this. Martial arts are for the individual to be able to defend themselves in real situations. Keep this in mind.
Lovely cinematography in this video. Truly the home of soft styles.
Tai Chi in my country (Trinidad and Tobago) is dying. If anyone has any suggestions to keep the art alive I would love to give you my ear.
