Anyway cut to Percy coming home early from visiting Annabeth at New Rome one day and being surprised by his mom, uncle, aunt, and step-dad having tea and chatting casually about their lives.

Hazel writing off her mother’s actions as complicated, she was a complex woman with her own problems and it’s okay that she was abusive because she was being brainwashed and it wasn’t her fault and she’s just stressed out because she wasn’t like this when hazel was young, she was loving, she was kind, she loves hazel, she’s just going through something right now and just all the rationalizations that abused children tell themselves to explain why their parents’ actions are okay and then she meets Sally and she is so sweet and tells Hazel that she is so proud of her and how strong she is and how kind she is and “thank you for helping bring my son back home to me” and Hazel breaks down sobbing on her second visit because Sally is so excited to see her and she’s never had that, she’s never walked into a house and had it be a home, and she’s never had a mother be happy that she’s there, and Sally is kind and nurturing and she tucks Hazel into her chest and tells her its okay to cry, just to let it out, it’s okay and Hazel thinks of her mother screaming at her to shut up and sobs harder because this is everything she’s ever wanted and never been allowed to have

“percy would take annabeth’s name” no he wouldn’t. i’m not saying he wouldn’t be down if she insisted but he would want sally jackson’s name and why would annabeth want to keep chase when she has avoided being with them as much as she could. they might hyphenate or keep their names but she’s not going to insist he take the last name of a family she doesn’t care for and abandon the name of the woman who raised him and cared for her.

Thissss!! Annabeth might actually want sally’s name, even without her own, sally showed annabeth the love her own father and step-mother never offered, annabeth would want to honour sally by taking her name

Pienso lo mismo con lo de la independencia de nico. Es súper independiente, pero no tiene por qué no aprender a depender un poco en los demás. Es un nene, tiene toda su adolescencia para eso.
