Only Friends had one of the worst potrayals of friendship I've ever seen. And not, like, in the oh-no-toxic kind of way but in terms of just... actually showing their friendship on screen. The show put so much weight on the romantic relationships that at no point did half the friendships in the show feel like friendships. At no point was I ever convinced that Boston was actually their friend because they all treated and talked about him like trash and no one ever, like... spoke to him. As a friend. Ever.
Only Friends portrayed a friendship group that never felt like friends and it's frustrating because the entire ending is supposed to be about this friendship and the way it fell apart when it never felt like one to start with.
