Some of my favorite Marvel moments.
"They are not the cowering wretches we were promised. They stand. They are unruly, and therefore cannot be ruled. To challenge them is to court death." ~ The Other, The Avengers (2012)
And a bonus, in keeping with Marvel tradition:
Have a great day :)

Personally, my go-to quotes, when I'm feeling down. Hope this helps someone else, too. Not a perfect set, but at least I figured out how to do it. I'm pleased with that, at the least.
Have a good evening.
Warlock by Keenan Marshall Keller.
This makes me laugh so hard, because it's so accurate.
"The idea was to bring together a group of of remarkable people to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could." ~ Nick Fury, The Avengers (2012)
I haven't made anything like this before, and I just wanted to see if I could. Turns out, with a lot of effort and tears and caffeine, you can do anything. Took a week and I'm pleased with it. Hope you all enjoy it, too. Have a good evening.
Character Morph: Thor (Chris Hemsworth)
“Chris is a terrific actor and on both “Thor” and “Thor 2” he was pretty impressive. We were doing a scene at night recently and there were four of us out on a balcony, including Chris. I went to check the playback on the monitor and I said to the director, ‘He really does look like a god. He looks like a Nordic god.’” - Anthony Hopkins on Chris Hemsworth.

"I have lived most of my life surrounded by my enemies. I would be grateful to die surrounded by my friends." - Gamora, Guardians of the Galaxy
"What if, whatever we do can't be changed?" "Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn't mean they can't be saved." ~ X-Men: Days of Future Past
This one took a long time - but well-worth it, I think. Enjoy, and have a good evening (or good day, wherever you well be.)
"We are the sum of our choices, as what we do now defines what we will do. Infinite decisions mean infinite consequences. For the future is never set." - Xavier, X-Men: Days of Future Past

The price of freedom is high, it always has been. It's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not. - Steve Rogers, Captain America:The Winter Soldier.
Happy Memorial Day, everyone. Good night.
"Ever since you were a little boy, you've been living with so many unresolved things. Well, take it from an old man. Those things send us down a road... they make us who we are. And if anyone's destined for greatness, it's you, son. You owe the world your gifts. You just have to figure out how to use them..."
~ Ben Parker, The Amazing Spider-Man
Here are a couple of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy gifs I'm not gonna use for the Amazing Spider-Man set, but since it took so long to make them, and I still think they're pretty good - I'm sharing them with you. Enjoy and have a good evening.
Nick Fury
This has come up often, in anonymous messages and reblogs, and please everyone who is confused - read closely, because I understand the criticism, but I think we're on separate pages of Marvel history, here.
And quite honestly, I don't appreciate the implication that I'm ignorant to the "original" character, though I can understand the fan furor over Fury.
First off, I've been a comics fan for 29 years, but that doesn't mean I'm always right. The only person I've ever known that I could talk to about comics, died when I was four - my uncle. He had been collecting since he was five, and passed his love for comics on to me, and I took more quickly to Marvel than any other title. I don't know anyone around here who I can have lengthy conversations with about comics, and when I go to the nearest comic store, I get hit on, which makes me uncomfortable, and driven away because I'm the only girl that comes in, evidently, and I have to "prove my knowledge and fan fervor" before I can purchase my comics. And I honestly don't like to argue which title is better, which character could kick whose ass... I get why that is appealing to some fans, but I like to read the comics, not fight over them. So, I order them online.
Therefore, I'm not accustomed to people taking issue with accuracy, or debating the comics, in person, much less online.
But, to the issue at hand:
Nick Fury, is the name of the famed (sometimes infamous) leader of S.H.I.E.L.D., previously of the Howling Commandos. We've all seen the grizzled face of the war hero throughout the years, and were probably collectively-confused by the decision to depict Fury in the comics and later in the films - as black. Confused, but not disappointed (at least on my end.)
I think it was back in about 2002 or 2003 that I bought an Ultimate comic, and saw the artist had blatantly used Samuel L. Jackson's image as a model for the "new" Nick Fury. And evidently, the Ultimate universe had offered the opportunity to rework some of the characters, and the writers and artists took full, wanton advantage - bless them.
I will say - this advantageous editing of the character of Nick Fury was personally satisfying to me. The writing was excellent, the character seemed to be a sterner, clear-cut Nick Fury, without a great deal of the mistrust even a reader had come to have in Nick, over the years, due to his dealings within S.H.I.E.L.D. This "new" Nick Fury really busted his opponents at the knees - I mean, I could go on for hours on the merits of "new" Nick Fury.
Well, as it turns out, Marvel treated "new" Nick Fury as an "Ultimate" Nick Fury, and it was very confusing for awhile, because I didn't know whether to treat this Nick Fury as the same colonel of the famed Commandos, or see him as a wholly different character. It seemed the artists/writers flipped back and forth - black Fury, white Fury, who is this Fury?
Well, the Nick Fury in the films, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson is based on Ultimate Nick Fury - apparently a role he ensured would be his, after the artists had used his image without his express permission, back in that Ultimates title, when the reveal of Ultimate Nick Fury first took place. He met with Marvel and secured that part.
And recently, Marvel has released a backstory on that character, back in 2012, after the Avengers film was released.
The Nick Fury of Ultimate Nick Fury fame, portrayed in the films by Sam -
Is the son of Nick Fury, of Howling Commandos fame.
They are not the same person, and therefore (I'm really sorry, comics fans) I will not merge a white Fury to Samuel L. Jackson - in answer to implications and direct accusation that a white Nick Fury would have been "more accurate." No, I don't think I "screwed up" a great character or a chance to recognize him. I like Ultimate Fury, and I like "original" Fury, but the one in the film is Ultimate Fury. So when you say I didn't use the "right" Fury from the comics, please understand that the reason the gif does not depict him as first white and then black is because the film Fury is black, both in the comics & as portrayed in the movies.
But thank you for the suggestions, and I do appreciate that the "original Nick Fury" fans are adamant that his character be portrayed accurately. I understand that you love him a great deal and would like to see an homage to him, I totally get it. Accuracy is fun, but so is creativity. And they are equally important - and both the basis for Marvel's writers and their reinventions/developments of their characters.
...I won't do it, sorry.
Good day, all.
"Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damned well sure we'll avenge it." - Tony Stark, The Avengers
And a *Bonus* (in keeping with Marvel tradition) -
Hope everyone enjoys these as much as I do - they took long enough to make. But they're finally finished - hey, let's celebrate with some sleep! Good evening, all. :)
