What’s so bad about Rey being a Skywalker?

“It’s boring”? Well, you can see the spin-offs out of the Skywalker Saga, or another saga, like, Star Trek?

“It has been done before”? Well, it’s the Skywalker Saga!

“Kylo is the Skywalker of the new generation”? Are y'all really denying Rey the Skywalker name and giving it to a villain that doesn’t even want it (at least anymore)? Are y'all misogynist?

“It’s a patriarchal system”? Rey is a girl, and this is a dynasty system, and, by the way, why a girl can’t be a heir to a dynasty?

“We already have Leia”? Again, what’s the problem of Rey, specifically, being a Skywalker?

“It denies the ‘anyone has the force’ message”? When did Anakin, being child of the Force, denied this message? All the Jedi that ever existed are ashamed of y'all.

“Luke treated her bad”? Y'all know he was desperate to leave her out of the war, right? That he was wanting to protect her, right? Because if he just treated her bad without a really good reason, I will have to agree with #notmyluke

“But then my Reylo is incest”? Well, that’s the worst reason ever, like, you’re denying her her real last name because of a fckin ship?

“But she said they were nobody”? Well, if y'all lived since 6 years old in a desert planet and in the apparently only chance y'all had to discover who your parents were the mirror showed nothing because, as Yoda said in The Empire Strikes Back, the dark cave only shows what is with you a.k.a y'all know nothing, wouldn’t y'all grab in the only story someone told y'all claiming it was a vision of the force after manipulating y'all into believing it would redeem?

“Ah, but you’re an anti”? I don’t ship incest or some ship that if canon is abusive, but, I was talking about Rey Skywalker, right? So y'all ran out of excuses?

Well, it's interesting, because [the theme of 'anyone can be a hero'] was--definitely, was something that slowly kind of emerged, but the truth is, that was never kind of like a driving thing for me in the movie. I've talked a little bit elsewhere about obviously the big decision with Rey and her parents, that is, um, you know, that's one of the big things--it's cutting loose from the idea of her being special coming from her lineage. And that is true, I do like that, I think that's a good thing, but that wasn't the motivating factor behind that decision. It was more of a dramatic decision.

Ugh, give it up, okay? There is no way Darth Vader is actually Luke's father. Luke's father is DEAD. Obi-Wan said so in the FIRST MOVIE. Also, did you miss the part where LUKE HIMSELF says it's impossible, and when Vader tells him he "knows it to be true," he shouts "No" right back at him?? And what are you expecting, that Luke is going to kill HIS OWN DAD in the next movie? Do you know what a piece of shit that would make him look like? Or do you think that the sole antagonist of the entire trilogy is just gonna maaaagically turn into a good guy at the end? Spare me your fan theories or analysis, you're wasting your time. Luke's father is dead. Darth Vader is not his real father. End of story.

Star Wars fans in 1981, probably
