Hi, baelon-alyssa are surely stuff of dreams. But I won't say jae-aly as overrated infact they were much more real. Highschool sweethearts who grew old together. Shared every joy and tear and let's not forget they had 13 children. "I'm old king yet you are still good queen" this had me in tears. Also Daemyra is made unnecessarily tragic by grrm and I stand by my earlier statement that like in dany case there was no need for a stupid affair with some nobody from nowhere. Unnecessary sex quotient
Hi there, sorry for the delay!
I still think Jae and Aly are overrated when compared to Baelon and Alyssa. While they were together for many years, and I do like them, so many times they just come across like they didn't discuss their ideas with each other and didn't really talk about things.
I know couples that function like this and like, good for them, but that's just conflict waiting to come out and arguments waiting to happen. I find people like this absolutely infuriating and I have no patience. Not speaking your mind and sharing your feelings will almost ALWAYS lead to trouble, and for Jae and Aly it definitely did. Good on them for working through their issues, but it's painful to see how much resentment Alysanne had at certain points. Compared to them, Baelon and Alyssa seemed to have true intimacy, to talk to each other, and to not take the other too serious. Yes, they are not nearly as developed as their parents, but I would argue those two (aside from the incest) have nothing to not like. They just feel so laid back, so at ease with each other... they are the kind of couple I like to be around irl. They are just... natural.
Yeah... I agree that a lot about Daemyra and the way they worked out was plot convenience (like Rhea Royce's whole existence) that does feel forced and... unnatural at certain points. Like many things in Fire and Blood, in their story at times it's like the plot is leading the characters instead of the characters leading the plot. And I am firm believer that the second is the much better sort of story.
I still stand by the fact that I do like that they were apart and eventually returned to each other.
There is something rather romantic about it. About that one person whose path will always cross with yours. Like fate wants you to be together. And fate did want them together so they could give us sweet baby cheeks Aegon and MVP Viserys (and so they could continue the Targaryen line).
All the best to you 🤗
