Can we just take a moment to talk about this part real quick because it is SOOOO important.
The writers, producers, and editors made it a really big point in tonight’s episode to show the “lack of darkness” when Emma hugged Killian and Henry.
This is opposite of when she faced her parents and others.
Right now, Emma is hanging from a thread in terms of what’s keeping her from going full dark. We saw that she’s struggling HARD with trying to stay sane and grounded. Her boys are important to her. Killian was able to get through to her when she was about to crush Merida’s heart. Henry has faith in his mother that having to destroy her will not be an option. Killian and Henry did not hesitate to bring the Wicked Witch (as fucking batshit insane and dangerous she is) into their plan to find Emma. These boys are fearless and will do whatever to save her.
JMo has alluded to their importance in THIS recent interview.
The fact that we saw this heavily foreshadows SOMETHING (I say this because I’m not even sure what right now) in the importance of Killian and Henry’s role in helping Emma keep the darkness at bay. I don’t know what it is exactly yet, but I am excited and terrified for what’s to come haha
holiday celebration 2019: for @rebeccasjack You deserve a happy ending, Emma. And happy endings always start with hope.
Friendly reminder that Killian and Henry were the only characters who never doubted Emma’s superpower. The very thing that, for years, was the only thing Emma liked about herself. In contrast, Neal told her to her face that he didn’t believe she had that gift, therefore attempting to take that away from her. Even Emma’s mother insisted that it wasn’t always reliable.
Small wonder that Killian was Emma’s romantic True Love and Henry her platonic True Love.
Just a lost little girl who didn’t matter and didn’t think she ever would.
