Stańczyk, character of the novel "Wait for me in our garden" by Ulyana Cherkasova The jester is named after a real historical figure who served at the court of the Polish kings in the 16th century. And in 1862 Jan Matejko painted his famous “Stańczyk at the Court of Queen Bona after the Loss of Smolensk”, which became the main reference for my illustration.
