TW: Bad Caretaker
“You know, what happened to you?” Caretaker frowned, arms crossed. They stared at Whumpee who sat across from them. “What happened to you Whumpee? You were never like this. Making up all these stories, acting like you’re traumatized for attention. What has gotten into you?”
Whumpee flinched. He couldn’t believe he was hearing those words. A frown appeared on his own face as he dropped his fidgeting hands in his lap. “You know what, I always trusted you. No matter what happened, I always believed that I could trust you and that you would keep me safe. But now I see that I was wrong. You don’t even believe all of that really happened. I told you what happened and you’re still choosing to be around Whumper. You’re still choosing to be with him. You’re in love with him, even after what he did to me…”
They huffed. “I just don’t believe he ever did something to you. I think you’re just making all of this up.” They shrugged. “None of that ever happened, you just don’t approve of my relationship and you’re trying to make me hate him. Whumper has done nothing wrong—”
Whumpee jumped from his seat. “Whumper has done everything wrong! He threatened to kill me and you still don’t believe a word I say! You heard him threatening me yourself! And you still believe him over me!” His voice cracked as his hands rolled into tight fists and tears welled in his eyes.
Caretaker raised their brows. “Well to me, it looks like you’re the aggressor here. You’re yelling right now. You’ve never done that until recently. And every time was with Whumper. I think the real victim here is him. Not you. You just want to see me upset so you’re making up these stories. I think it would be better if you just let it go. Or better yet, leave.”
Shocked, Whumpee’s expression faded away. Though he didn’t give Caretaker the satisfaction of knowing. He frowned deeply. “Fine. I will leave. I hope you’re happy when you finally marry that sociopath.”
He walked out of the room without waiting for a response. He caught Whumper standing with a smirk at the end of the hall when he went to pack his things.
