"I found a love, for me Darling, just dive right in and follow my lead Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me 'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love Not knowing what it was I will not give you up this time But darling, just kiss me slow Your heart is all I own And in your eyes, you're holding mine Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, With you between my arms Barefoot on the grass Listening to our favourite song When you said you looked a mess I whispered underneath my breath But you heard it Darling, you look perfect tonight."
WIP
hiyooo everyone.
Just passing by and dropping a small WIP of the batch of stuff I am working on in my "hermit period", so to speak. Between designing new ocs for Genshin and drawing fluffy stuff, I tried to keep the Big Sad away <3
These two have been a constant presence in my mind, and my main source of solace and fluffy comfort <3 I love them so much they make my heart burst with feelings <3
Now I only need to find the courage to actually linearting this and then colouring *fingers crossed*

Dover, 26th December 1872
The house was quiet, as the middle of the night approached. The staff of the house was peacefully sleeping in their beds, all resting and dreaming of the past festive days as the snow outside danced away, shimmering crystal swirling in a waltzing tempo, twirling with the wind that blew from the sea, not so far away. It was a gentle snowfall, one that had enveloped the entire world in its protective cover. Dorothea had been sitting by the windowsill of her childhood bedroom in Dover for the greatest part of the evening, lost as she was in that dance that always entranced her like nothing else in the world. A book - Alice through the Looking Glass - was sitting just besides her elbow, still opened to the page where Dorothea had interrupted her reading.
*hides in shame from the amount of WIP that I still have from more than a year ago*
heellooooooo!
December is here, and it has been snowing for a whole week (and such a gentle snowfall it is), so this has started to put me in a festive mood and y'all know that I would be doing some festive artworks. But since I am still deeply focused on my own VtM!AU, I don't know if I will manage to finish these ones or even start new ones (because fml, I have to draw Festive!Mottie fml. I NEED. I NEED.), so just in case anything happens I wanted to share at least the WIPs of the artworks I started last year :) (but bear in mind that i do wish to finish them :))
Hope you will like them :)

I Will Always Find you
Flecks of snow fall on your face Keep this kiss, don't forget my name Darkness comes to take us away Don't forget that you loved me.
Love is a magic we were born to make Hold it tight, don't let it break Poisoned apples dark hearts make Will die when you kneel and kiss me
When stars are gone Pages fade in the tale we knew, Hope is born Don't be scared if you can't find truth We belong Never doubt I will always find you
Love is truth Darkness falls but our hearts stay true I'm with you Don't be scared if I'm gone from view I'll always find you Never doubt I will always find you
"I Will Always Find You" - Karliene
"Belle
À quoi me sert encore de prier Notre-Dame?
Quel
Est celui qui lui jettera la première pierre?
Celui-là ne mérite pas d'être sur terre
Ô Lucifer
Oh laisse-moi rien qu'une fois
Glisser mes doigts dans les cheveux d'Esméralda"
I can't.
I just can't with these two.
My brain is a hostage.
I can't do much.
I am drowning in feelings.
No need to send help.
Lemme swim here for a little while.
It's all about comfort.
ALSO CROSS YOUR FINGERS THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO DO WHAT MY BRAIN IS ENVISIONING. Or so help me, I will be so disappointed with myself.
"Je suis pour toi....Tu prends ma main."
Inspired by the beautiful artwork by Joe Bowler, and accompanied by this beautiful song I decided to draw my own Mathias/Dorothea version, with a slight twist. I couldn't help but add the night sky for them, because it represents them as a couple: he is the dark veil of the Night, embracing its brightest Star, not to dim her light, but rather to make her shine even more brilliant and guide the lost souls that wander the land alone.
What can I say more that I haven't said?
I adore them. And it was about time that I drew something sweet with them (and this was also great practice for painting. Little by little, I am getting closer to learning :) ) I hope you will like this, just as much as I loved working on it. <3

Hello Hello!
So, a few days ago I reblogged one of the very first versions of my Dorothea, and I wondered how my old artwork would look if I were to rework it now, with 3 more years of research, knowledge, practice and honed skills.
So, thanks to @susann-noir and @tkwritesdumbassassins enabling, I decided to give it a go, and redraw her!
Well, allow me to show you the result, and I am very happy with it!
Here 'tis The Countess Dorothea Marianne Starrick, daughter of Grand Master of the British Rite Crawford Joseph Starrick and Countess Annette Ingrid Bielke, Grand Master of the British Rite after her father, wife to Jacob Frye and Mother of the Starrick-Frye Bunch.
My creative pride and joy right there.
I like to imagine this was a portrait her father commissioned after she came back from Sweden.
Well, I hope you will like this <3

Children sleeping, Snow is softly falling Dreams are calling, Like bells in the distance
We were dreamers Not so long ago But one by one We all had to grow up
When it seems the magic slipped away We find it all again on Christmas Day
Believe in what your heart is saying Hear the melody that's playing There's no time to waste There's so much to celebrate
Believe in what you feel inside And give your dreams the wings to fly You have everything you need If you just believe
Trains move quickly To their journey's end Destinations Are where we begin again Ships go sailing Far across the sea Trusting starlight To get where they need to be When it seems that we have lost our way We find ourselves again on Christmas Day Believe in what your heart is saying Hear the melody that's playing There's no time to waste There's so much to celebrate Believe in what you feel inside And give your dreams the wings to fly You have everything you need If you just believe If you just believe If you just believe If you just believe Just believe Just believe
Hi everyone!!
As you can see, I have finally managed to finish the artwork I started a while ago (and omgomgomomg, I also managed to finish it BEFORE the 25th, you have no idea how happy I am about it lolololol).
I can honestly admit this is probably one of my most successful artworks, in terms of how it turned out, and I am SO HAPPY that I managed to work on the background as I wished and that it somewhat turned out the way I wanted! May this be the first of a long series of complete artworks with proper colorful backgrounds!
I also was happy to try my hand at the 1840s garments for Jacob, Dottie and Emmett, and after researching for it, I can say that now it's probably one of my fave decades along with the 1810s, 1820s, 1870s and 1880s (yes, I love many decades, but I love the XIX century fashion to bits, so what did you expect of me?lololol).
But overall, this whole artwork was a TRUE JOY to work on, and I loved every single moment I spent planning it out, choosing the colours and what and how to do it.
And I adore the context of this artwork: Jacob and Dorothea and baby Emmett finally spending their first Christmas together, after all the sorrow and hardship they had to go through to create a future for all of them. It was a long journey, a solitary one, but they did it, and now they are finally spending the festivities together as a family, enjoying the gentle snow falling after a whole afternoon spent ice skating together.
Well, I hope you will like this just as much as I loved working on it!
HAPPY FESTIVITIES FROM THE STARRICK-FRYE FAMILY (and from myself too lolol).

*takes a deep breath of relief*
I MANAGED.
ALL THE CAFFEINE MY DEAR FRIENDS SENT ME MANAGED TO HELP ME FINISH THIS TONIGHT.
Dear gods, I still cannot believe I managed to finish this in *looks at the clock* 5 hours??
Honestly, I am just relieved I managed to finish this tonight, so that I can post it today.
Let me tell you why.
Today it's the 13th of December, and both in Italy AND Sweden, we celebrate Saint Lucy.
So this morning, while I was working at my desk, I was actually pondering how sad I was not to be able to celebrate it properly this year, and this led me to think that I have never truly portrayed Dorothea celebrating Saint Lucy properly, as they would in Sweden.
So, tonight, I just decided to do a sprint job and work on Dorothea as she would look on the night of Saint Lucy, bright as starlight, and just as the Saint herself, a beacon of light in the cold wintery night. I like to think that in this particular artwork, she spent her last winter in Sweden before returning to London and reuniting with her mother and father. I want to think that both Phillip and Charlie were visiting her, so that she would have at least her cousins with her for Christmas.
Alternatively, and considering the role that she covers in my own MonsterMash!AU, I like to think that this would be her as the Ghost of Christmas Past if she were in "A Christmas Carol".
Well, now that this is done, time for me to go and sleep (because technically I DO have to work tomorrow lol)
Hope you will like this! <3

"Hear them softly sigh The sounds of yesterday Let them heal our wounds
If I close my eyes, I can see you Oh, I can see you close enough to touch I hardly dare to dream you, oh, lest it be too much What's the moral of the story When I only see us fighting, elegy to, to the starry-eyed, ooh
Silent now the sounds of yesterday I'm treading on sacred ground again Like a single errant ray Showing us the wounds we both sustained And our sacred pain 'Til silent fall the sounds of yesterday"

Fancy Garments? CHECKED.
Couple in love embracing? CHECKED.
Said couple being Jacob and Dottie? DOUBLE CHECKED.
the result of a little stream I did earlier today.
I am in a festive mood, have been listening to Christmas Music and soundtrack from all my favorite movies all week, and I just found myself thinking about my two lovebirds again.
the way I love them...I cannot even start to say.
Even my daughter and my husband were missing them (though I think in my husband's case, it was more connected to seeing me happy and giddy over these two, rather than seeing Mr. Frye's face, I am afraid😂).
So yeah, here you have a small wip of them in my favourite season.
Tbh, in my mind, winter has always been their season, probably because, in my story, it's the season when they realized to be in love with one another.
I love these two so much, I am so happy I was able to draw them again, you have truly no idea. <3

"I remember tears streaming down your face When I said I'll never let you go When all those shadows almost killed your light I remember you said "don't leave me here alone" But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight
Just close your eyes, the sun is going down You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound
Don't you dare look out your window, darling, everything's on fire The war outside our door keeps raging on Hold onto this lullaby even when the music's gone,"
"Safe and Sound" -cover by John Michael Howell X MDSN
the result from my small livestream, aka me just doodling for the sake of it while listening to music.
This time around, I have brought Dottie in a 50s outfit (Dior silhouette is *perfect* for her) and Lucia in one of her looks in the MonstersMash!AU. I am extremely happy with this AU because it's giving me the possibility to fortify Lucia's look AND general personality. She is getting more and more mischievous by the hour lolol. I started dear Colette too, but I was too tired to finish. Next time around :)
hope you will like these.

Hello, darling! For the OC outfit doodle ask:☠ OC in what they would wear to a funeral - Dottie in a Victorian mourning gown, please! 💕 Thank you! 💕
My dear Susie!
AND AM ACTUALLY HAPPY YOU BROUGHT ME THIS ASK, because I honestly NEVER had the idea of portraying Dorothea in a Victorian Mourning Gown, so THIS WAS TRULY THE PERFECT OCCASION TO DRAW HER!
So, here you have it.
"GHOST OF A ROSE" robe for Dorothea!!
NOW. A little bit of info behind this piece.
Due to Mourning being such an important period during the Victorian period, certain rules of etiquette were supposed to be followed, along with the fact that the period of mourning depended on the relationship that the person had with the departed.
For Dorothea, since she is mourning her beloved mother, the period of time she would be wearing black clothes would be of one year, and she would be discouraged to participate in social events for at least 6 months.
If one wanted to be technical, the whole ensemble that I depicted here should have been the deepest of black, because that was the only acceptable colour until the half-mourning period began.
However, I have to be honest, for artistic reason, I took a couple of liberties.
I decided to go with a late 1870s-early 1880s cut of the robe because that reflects the time when her mother passed but the capelet is not reflective of that period of time; instead, I went with a capelet that reflects more the late 1850s - early1860s cut.
The reason for it was that, because that particular capelet was Crawford's gift to Dorothea one winter, and ever since her father's death in 1868, she had been holding it for dear life to it, especially after losing her mother as well.As for the colouring, instead of going pitch black, I also took some liberties, especially after seeing a beautiful picture of a dark red/black rose, which was just PERFECT both because the colours were beautiful AND because of all the meaning behind Dorothea starting to wear black with crimson, instead of her signature white and red (spoiler alert, she would not resume wearing white until Emmett's birth).
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT.
I HOPE YOU WILL LIKE IT.
Again, it's just a quick sketch, so forgive the roughness of it all
