I finally finished the original 64 cast! I'll try to stick with one character every day until the entire Ultimate cast is here.

I think I definitely liked how samus Samus and Fox came out the most. But I'm happy that I feel like I'm growing as an artist with each of them in diferent ways, every character has been a different challenge and I'm kinda scared of some future characters like ridley but I still think it will be worth it in the end.

today (provided the tumblr post scheduler works as intended) is very special!!!!! the original super smash bros was released in japan 25 years ago. smash is turning 25 baby

wanted to make a cool poster for the occasion since the smash series is very special to me. ive been wanting to since christmas?? but it took quite a long time to really nail an idea and almost dropped the project entirely. BUT THANKFULLY one day i finally had my plans click together that would let me see this through to the end.

i also have plans to print this for myself n actually hang it up. so for the first time, i actually used a cmyk color profile (and even made room for trim marks!) in preparation for that. i just need to not get cold feet at the last minute when asking my local printer lol…… but working in cmyk was actually a neat little challenge that i’ve never done before, and i really like how the colors came out here :]
