for real,, if everyone's a generational talent, no one's a generational talent!!!
idk why people try to make it into a bigger conversation than it is. generations arent like variables in time that change depending on the guy u want to highlight as the most important and the most representive boy. there's 1 generation. a bunch of drivers born within same time frame. They all belong to that generation. Charles, George, Max, Ocon, Pierre, Lando. If u call one of them generational, ur attributing qualities and accolades to him that his peers, again, from the same generation, were not able to match. U are saying that in certain metrics, significant, historical metrics, this driver is peerless in his success. This driver did things that no one else could do. Thats WHAT 'generational driver' MEANS. Nothing less, nothing more. That is a driver that defines the rest of his generations level by single handedly setting the standards and raising the bar they all chase afterwards. In Lewis' generation, that was Lewis. In Max's generation, it is Max. In Michael's, it was Michael. If anyone wants to argue this Im very curious as to what type of statistics they have to show for it, and most importantly, why. Remember, this isnt about how special and talented and quick in certain ways shapes and forms this very dear boy is, its about who was it that broke wid the past and gave way into the new in a way that is still, to this day, irreplicable . Who can you point to whose sole appearance in motorsport was so monumental it effectively defined his generation and created a past and future that all circled back to him driving for the first time. Who was the first ripple. Who took that ripple, and built oceans, and bridges, and tornadoes that wrecked it at all to shreds. Who was at helm of your generation of your drivers. Who made the calls. Is this not . a simple fucking question❓wid a simple fucking answer ❓
