🍁Fall Activities and Stuff for Middle Regressors🍁

  • Go outdoors and stomp in some crunchy, dry leaves. Bonus points if it’s at an empty playground!
  • Pick out a spooky movie and have a movie night. It doesn’t have to be horror, there are plenty of cartoon/kids show Halloween specials that aren’t too scary! It’s even more fun when you have pizza or some other nostalgic food to snack on.
  • If you go to school/classes, you can pick out fun stationary like folders with characters on them, cute notebooks, and scented pencils.
  • If you don’t go to school but would still like a back to school experience, you can set up a little classroom for your plushies and read chapter books with them
  • Think of fun Halloween costumes to make. It doesn’t have to be expensive. A pair of animal ears for your favorite animal has never failed me.
  • If you don’t want to dress up personally but still want to make a costume, you can make some for your favorite plushies out of materials like craft felt or construction paper.
  • If there’s a farm near you, they might have apple/pumpkin picking!
  • Another outdoors activity is taking a nature walk! The trees look so pretty during fall, so make sure to bring some plushies so they can see them too! You can take pictures of them in the fallen leaves.
  • Speaking of leaves, you can find the most perfect ones and press them in a book. Just make sure they aren’t completely brittle or they’ll break!
  • You can go camping, for real or for pretend. I don’t like real camping, so I make a fort out of blankets and use an LED lantern and make s’mores in the microwave lol.
  • Go check out a thrift store for cozy sweaters and other stylish fall clothing. If you go close to Halloween, they’ll have interesting stuff that you can make costumes out of!
  • For some reason I find going to the library very nostalgic around this time of year, so I recommend doing that! Most libraries have middle grade chapter books.
  • Set up a cozy corner in your room with lots of blankets and pillows and plushies, for reading or gaming in!
  • Plant some seeds or bulbs for the summer. This generally works best outdoors, but if you don’t have a yard you can probably still have luck planting it in a flower pot.
  • Research the seasonal behaviors of your local wildlife! You can watch squirrels burying acorns, and birds migrating. Just be sure to do so from a safe distance,
  • Make something tasty, like candy apples or a sweet with lots of cinnamon! Make sure you have supervision if you need it.

Happy Fall and have fun!

5 Recommendations for Middles who Love Arts and Crafts

Suncatchers

you can buy suncatcher painting kits at pretty much any craft store for relatively cheap. Plus, they look very pretty hung on the window.

Aquabeads

I prefer these because unlike perler beads, they stick together with just water, so there’s no risk of burns. They sell cheaper off brand aquabeads online if you’re on a budget.

Bracelets

Probably the cheapest craft on here. The supplies for both traditional beaded bracelets and woven friendship bracelets can be bought at most dollar stores! While it’s a little more expensive, I also recommend rainbow loom.

No-sew pillows and blankets

You can get kits for these at craft stores, but you can also make them with cheaper fleece fabric sold on its own. I can post a tutorial for this if you are interested.

Knitting

I know, this one sounds daunting, but they sell these round looms for making hats that are really easy to use. You don’t even need to know how to knit to use them! They sell the looms in all different sizes too. I used to have a very small one that I would make hats for my plushies with!

If you can think of other fun craft recommendations, feel free to add them on!

⭐️Things to Help you Middle Regress⭐️

This is just what I could think of. Feel free to add on to this list!

  • Change into clothes with characters that you like on them. I see a lot of cartoon tshirts at Hot Topic, if you’re wondering where to get them.
  • Play some pop songs or edgy music- or whatever kind of thing you’d listen to in 5th grade.
  • Write in a journal. Misspell words on purpose, use your non-dominant hand, etc this one helps me slip a lot!
  • Prepare a snack. Something kiddish in a little bowl, like cut up fruits or goldfish crackers, and a drink (make sure to stay hydrated) in a themed water bottle.
  • A nostalgic scent can help a lot. You can get scented candles (or wax and a wax warmer if ur scared of fire like me) in scents like fresh laundry, or sugar cookies, and even cut grass.
  • Dim the lights if it’s late. This helps me relax. If you have fairy lights or a night-light, you can turn those on too.
  • Put on some big kid cartoons in the background, or even just play the theme song and listen to it.
  • If you want something more stimulating, go and hang out at a mall. Go into the most nostalgic stores (for me it’s Claire’s or Hot Topic.) Adults shop there all the time, so even if you’re secretive about your regression it won’t look out of place!
  • If the mall isn’t your thing, wait until it gets dark and then hang out at an empty playground.
  • Back to the more relaxing side of things: curl up in bed and surround yourself with your comfort items.
  • You can find computer games that are meant to teach late elementary/middle school math, spelling, history, etc. Try playing one and getting some of it wrong on purpose.
  • Play a nostalgic video game that was popular when you were chronologically the age you regress to! Even if it doesn’t make you slip, this one is just plain fun.
  • Read middle grade books. Bonus points for doing it under the covers with a flashlight.

Hope these are helpful!

Hobbies and Activities for Middle Regressors and Dreamers

  • Keeping a diary! This can look like a physical journal of written entries or photos, or a video or audio log.
  • Photography. You can shoot pictures of yourself, your environment, or your toys.
  • Collecting! Toys like littlest pet shop and matchbox cars make good collectables, but you don’t need to spend money! Rocks, sea glass, or anything else you can get your hands on are just as good!
  • Learning a simple elementary-level instrument like the recorder can be fun and rewarding!
  • Riding a bike, scooter, or skateboard. I like to ride my scooter in empty parking lots, but anywhere that’s smooth will work. Just remember to wear a helmet!
  • Arts and crafts like drawing, making kandi, sculpting with polymer clay, writing, and collaging are fun ways to express yourself.
  • Video games! My personal favorite types are pet care, turn based rpg, and old school flash dress up games to make characters with!

Remember, you don’t have to be “good” at any of these! The point isn’t to be perfect, it’s to have fun!💖💫

Summer/Hot Weather Things for Middle Regressors and Dreamers

  • Make some lemonade and freeze it in molds to make lemonade popsicles. These are super tasty and refreshing after a long hot day!
  • Water gun or nerf blaster battles with friends. If you’re using nerf or another toy that shoots foam darts, remember to protect your eyes with goggles.
  • Temporary glitter tattoos! You can get them done at some boardwalks or you can buy a kit online.
  • Body glitter, now that it’s tank top weather! I bought some at claire’s and it smells like strawberries :D
  • Just chilling outside in the evenings now that the days are longer. Bring a plushie with you and enjoy the nice weather.
  • Once it gets dark, you can play games like flashlight tag!
  • Thrifting summer clothes can be fun and affordable!
  • Dressing up dolls in summer clothes and swimsuits, or pinning flower hair clips to your plushies’ ears.
  • Summer playlists! I have to admit I always tell myself I’m going to make one and then forget, but remembering will be worth it.
  • If you have someone to drive you, take a summer day trip to somewhere you don’t usually go. Now’s a good time for that summer playlist.
  • Friendship bracelets! You can make kandi, rainbow loom, or traditional woven bracelets and give them to the people close to you.
  • On that note, miniature friendship bracelets or collars for your plushies.
  • Make a summer bucket list of all the fun things you want to do this summer, and check them off as you complete them!
  • Last but not least, remember to wear your sunscreen!

Make sure to keep cool and stay hydrated <3
