In Jan’s Head
I recently watched a documentary about Jan Frodeno - the currently best ironman triathlete (back-to-back winner of Hawaii 2015 and 2016 - this fall going).
When asked how he feels during a race over the duration of 8 hours:
He replied: “It goes up and down ALL THE TIME. I feel fine, then shit, a minute like giving up, only to be back on track 10 minutes later...”
I was absolutely surprised to hear that even for the greatest athlete in his sport every race is an inner battle, a rollercoaster of emotions and thoughts. Experiencing the highest highs and lowest lows just to start over again - every athlete knows that by heart.
But isn’t it exactly the same with entrepreneurship? Doesn’t starting a business and pursuing one’s dream feel quite the same?
The inner dialog between the part of you how wants to give up right now in order to get rid of all the pain and sacrifices on one side and the visionary optimistic part of you - is nothing but normal!
We all go trough this.
Let’s commit to following Jan’s example and simply keep going.
