Style Five Week - Day 3: Rin ↳ Splash Free
★Thank you for taking part in STYLE FIVE WEEK! ★
We’re really happy to have received such lovely submissions from all of you. To everyone who participated, thank you for showing your love for these boys with your fanworks! And to everyone who reblogged our posts and helped promote the event, thank you for showing your love for these boys by helping us reach as many SYTLE FIVE fans as possible!
We’ve received several of your concerns throughout the week, so we would like to take this chance to remind everyone who didn’t manage to take part, or who missed the deadline for certain days, that we are taking late submissions for at least FIVE (of course) days more! (and not just for the days stated above, but for any day of the week!) It’s not too late, so don’t let that discourage you from contributing to celebrating this lovely group. We’ll be glad to receive your submissions!
Once again, thank you so much! We hope to see you again soon!
#StyleFiveWeek - Day 7: Dreams + Professions
#StyleFiveWeek - Day 6: (For the) Team + Ever Blue
Style Five Week - Day 1: Haruka ↳ Aesthetics + body appreciation
Bands, bonds and a Buick
Day 2: Makoto/Bonds + Idol!AU wildcard (well, more like a boy band)
Author’s Note: I came back from the dead to submit for this event. Sorry to be late—this was supposed to be a submission for Day 2 (for the “Bonds” prompt, although I guess it fits with the day 3 “Sightseeing” prompt as well). 7,000 words of Style Five on a road trip. I already wrote a fic in which Haru meets Old Faithful, but I liked the idea too much to let it go, so I used it in again as the premise of this boyband-goes-on-a-road-trip-in-America-AU, although the story ended up going in it’s own direction and Haru never actually met Old Faithful after all—please forgive me. I hope it is sufficiently campy to be a proper tribute to Free!. Thanks to my sisters for proofreading, any mistakes are 100% on me. If you enjoy it, likes and re-blogs are highly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read it.
Day 3 - Rin/Splash Free
#StyleFiveWeek - Day 2: Bonds + Animals
Style Five Week - Day 2 [MAKOTO]
There’s nothing to fear when Mako-chan’s there to catch you!
I know Future Fish was a Day 1 prompt, but I ended up wanting a full set, so~
Mako-chan Appreciation Day
“Eh? What’s all this?”
Makoto stood in the doorway of Haru’s house, mouth wide open in surprise. Balloons crowded practically all that Makoto could see and a delicious smell was coming from somewhere in the house (and it wasn’t mackerel for once).
“Haru?” Makoto called out, closing the door behind him. “I got your text.” He started walking in the direction of the living room, pausing to swat some balloons out of his way. “Hey Ha-” He paused.
Haru, Nagisa, Rei, and Rin looked up in surprise as Makoto walked into the living room. Varying expressions of shock showed on their faces. Finally, Nagisa broke the silence. “It’s Mako-chan Appreciation Day!”
“Mako- Huh?” Makoto said. He took a few more steps inside and sat down next to Haru on the ground.
“We decided that you do a lot of things for us, Makoto-senpai,” Rei said.
“So we invited you over so we could tell you what you mean to us,” added Rin.
“You were in on this too, Haru?” Makoto asked, looking over at the boy.
Haru nodded. “It was Nagisa’s idea.”
Nagisa grinned and stuck his tongue out, flashing a peace sign. “Yup!”
“You guys…” Makoto said, smiling widely.
“Oi, don’t start crying yet,” Rin joked, elbowing Makoto in the side. “We haven’t even gotten to the sappy part.”
“I thought we were going to eat first,” whined Nagisa.
“Nagisa-kun, the food can wait. Today is about Makoto-senpai,” Rei chided.
“Okay fine, as long as I get to talk about Mako-chan first,” Nagisa said. He clapped his hands. “Okay! Mako-chan, you and Haru-chan and Rin-chan were my best friends in elementary school. When I moved but came back to Iwatobi High, I thought things would be awkward.” He gave Makoto a smile. “But that wasn’t the case. You treated me like we had been together for all those missing years. So thank you!”
“Thank you, Nagisa,” Makoto smiled. “That was nice.”
“My turn,” Rei said. “Makoto-senpai, when we went out to training camp, you risked your life to save me even though you’re afraid of the ocean. If you hadn’t, who knows if I would be here right now. You haven’t even known me as long as the others. But still, you saved me. Thank you.”
Nagisa started applauding and cheered, “Yay Rei-chan! Yay Mako-chan!”
“Oi, Nagisa, pipe down,” Rin remarked, grinning. “It’s my turn to make Makoto cry.”
“I’m not crying,” Makoto protested lightheartedly. “I probably will, though.”
Rin let out a huge sigh and leaned back on the palms of his hands. “Do you remember in the sixth grade when Haru almost drowned in the river?”
Makoto felt Haru tense up but he nodded. “Yeah. He had to go to the hospital.”
“I will never forget how scared you were. And I told you I was worried, and you immediately told me that Haru would be fine. But then I said that I was only worried because you were shaking so much.
“Anyways that’s how we became friends. And so I saw how great of a guy you are. Only you would be more scared than the person who actually almost drowned.”
“Because I’m a coward?” Makoto joked.
Rin smiled, but then he said, “No. Because you’re kind.”
Makoto felt tears prickle in his eyes and he willed them to stay in. “Thank you, Rin,” he whispered.
“Haru-chan’s turn, Haru-chan’s turrrrrn!” Nagisa said loudly.
“Well…” Haru started to say. He sat for a long while, trying to think of words to say. Finally, “You’re my best friend.”
Silence.
“That’s it?!” Rin yelled. “I say this long speech and you just say that?”
Haru huffed, clearly annoyed. “Makoto knows what I mean.”
And he did. “Thank you, Haru.” He smiled. And Haru looked back, which was his own little version of a smile, Makoto supposed.
“Anyway, Makoto-senpai, we just wanted to say thank you,” Rei said, breaking the silence.
“For everything that you’ve done in all these years,” Rin added.
“And for being you,” Haru said quietly.
“We love you, Mako-chan!” Nagisa grinned.
Makoto felt his heart burst with love. “You guys…” he said, his voice breaking. Tears blurred his vision and all at once they started spilling over until he was full-on sobbing.
“Aah! Mako-chan, don’t cry!”
“I’m crying because I’m happy.”
“Oi, Haru made dinner.”
“It’s your favorite, green curry.”
“Ack! Haruka-senpai you made him cry even more!”
“I didn’t mean to.”
“You guys… this is too much… I love you all.”
“Yeah, yeah, we love you too, you big baby. Let’s eat, yeah?”
“Okay.”
For Day 2 of Style Five Week! I really liked this once because I love writing my baby being appreciated and happy.
P.S. Writing with all five is a challenge but I’m glad I’m working on it.
#StyleFiveWeek - Day 1: Aesthetics and Oddities
Style Five Week - Day 1 [HARUKA]
MermanorChef Haru?
When in doubt, choose both!
Day 1 - Haru/Future Fish
Play Date
“Haru-chan!”
The loud, high pitched voice brought Haruka out of his daze as he looked up from the grass and out at the four boys waving to him.
“We’re here to playyyy!” called the little blonde, Nagisa.
Haru stood up and cupped his hands around his mouth, calling back, “Come inside then!” He started back towards his house and waited for his friends to follow.
“I’ve never been to your house before,” Rei remarked, stepping inside. That’s right, Haru thought. It was the first time that all five of them would be together outside of elementary.
“So what are we gonna do, Haru-chan?” Rin asked, sitting down cross-legged on Haru’s living room floor.
“I don’t know,” he replied. “This was Makoto’s idea.”
“Haru-chan was telling me that he wanted to see all of us more often,” Makoto said, sitting down next to Rin. The other boys soon followed until they had made a circle with the five of them.
“That doesn’t mean I know what to do,” Haru muttered.
“Heyyy, Haru-chan where are your parents?” Nagisa asked. “I’ve never met them!”
“They’re in Tokyo,” Haru said. “My grandmother watches over me. She’s taking a nap.”
“Are we being too loud?” Rei asked, concerned.
“No, it’s fine,” Haru said, standing up. “Wait right here, I know what we can do.”
He walked into his room and grabbed his box of crayons and a large sheet of paper. He didn’t know if his friends liked drawing, but it was worth a try. He marched back to the living room and set the supplies down in the center of their little circle.
Rin’s eyebrows creased in something that looked almost like confusion to Haru. “We’re… drawing?”
Haru didn’t hesitate to pick out a blue crayon and began drawing. “If you want to,” he said, carefully drawing out the outline of a fish.
Rin shrugged and fished out a crayon and the other boys did the same. At first they were only silly doodles. Animals, trees, stick people, and the like. Then suddenly, Nagisa popped up from his position of laying on his stomach to excitedly point at what he’d drawn.
“What is that?” Makoto asked.
“It’s an alien!” Nagisa beamed proudly. “I’m going to find one of those when I grow up. In space!” He spread his arms out wide as if trying to convey the hugeness of space. “I’ll get to wear those cool suits and ride in a rocketship!” he chattered excitedly.
“You want to be an astronaut, Nagisa?” Rei asked. Nagisa nodded happily. Rei took his crayon and began drawing something that looked like a test tube.
“I want to be a scientist!” Rei boasted, showing off his drawing like it was the Mona Lisa. “I’ll get to create new things, experiment, figure out how things work.” He adjusted his glasses, which had begun to slide down his face in the midst of his excitement. “I might even be able to cure diseases!”
“That’s so cool, Rei-chan!” Makoto smiled. “You’ll do great! You too, Nagisa.”
“What do you want to do, Makoto?” Rin asked.
“Well…” He bent down and began a drawing of a fire truck. “I’d really like to be a fireman! Saving people’s lives sounds really great. I don’t know about all that fire though…” He looked down, mildly embarrassed.
“That’s cool, Makoto,” Haru said.
“Yeah, definitely!” Nagisa chirped. “Fire trucks are really cool!”
Makoto blushed, and then gave a huge smile.
“You know what I want to be?” Rin asked, finishing up a drawing that he was working on. It was a police car. “I wanna be a police officer. Catching bad guys, solving crimes, riding around in a cool police car.” He imitated shooting a gun. “That’s what I want to do.”
“Wow… cool!” Nagisa all but squealed.
“What about you, Haru-chan?” Makoto asked.
“Yes, Haru, what about you?” Rei added.
Haru felt the weight of all the eyes on him. “I- I don’t know.”
Suddenly it became the other four’s mission to find Haru a dream career.
“Doctor!”
“Writer!”
“Artist!”
“Swimmer!”
“Singer!”
“Janitor!”
“Teacher!”
Finally, Makoto suggested, “How about a chef? Haru-chan’s a good cook.”
“That doesn’t sound so bad,” Haru said. He drew a frying pan on the paper.
“It suits him. But Haru-chan probably just wants to be a fish!” Rin said, proud of his own little joke.
The other boys laughed.
“No matter what we are when we grow up,” Haru said, “we’ll be together, right?”
They all nodded in agreement.
My contribution to Style Five Week! This is day one for the Future Fish/Beginnings prompt
Hello! First of all I love this and I'm so ready to participate. But I'm a little bit confused. So are the Costume Change prompts to be combined with the Main Prompt of that day? Are the Costume Change prompts necessary? Thanks for clearing this up!
Hiya!
No, of course the costume changes are not necessary!
They’re just AU prompts that you can, but aren’t required to, use in conjunction (or not) with the main theme for that day/center.
For example, for day 5 the main theme is “Lessons”, so you could perhaps have Rin tutoring the rest of the Style Five boys in English. …But if you were to combine the main theme of “Lessons” with the Costume Change prompt of “Other Sports” you could, for example, have the boys attempt to take a yoga class together ;)?
None of the prompts are mandatory; they are simply suggestions that could potentially work well with any given day’s theme. The rest is up to your own creativity! Good luck and have fun!
wolfsflei replied to your post “Hello! Thank you for this nice event. I would like to ask: 1. Only...”
