SYNOPSIS —

1853. sweetwater, massachusetts, swallows people whole. dr. jonathan fallow thought he escaped its grip four years ago, but he finds himself back in its clutches, as winter creeps in.

sweetwater swallows people whole, but it seems to be in the maw of something else. tracks in the forest; mutilated cattle; a howling chorus. the townsfolk are quick to cry devil, encouraged by their firebrand pastor, gabriel goodwin. jonathan is determined to prove that the creatures lurking in the woods are wolves, nothing more — but a night vigil and a glimpse of something horrifying force him to reconsider.

to expose the rotting heart of the village, he’ll have to form an alliance with a faceless traveller, a disgraced former surgeon — and the pastor’s beautiful younger brother.

The Wildfire King is a 129k-word epic fantasy novel, the first of a trilogy, following multiple characters' POVs across a diverse cast of characters.

Hello there! I’m looking for beta readers for The Wildfire King! I’m looking for general feedback on plot/characters/setting, very story-based more than prose/style based!

This beta will run from ~approx July 1st to September 30th, but there is wiggle room! I have details about this on the form, so if the timeline is a limit for you but you’d still like to take part, please let me know. I’m running on no deadlines here but my own, so I’m flexible!

After being one of the biggest parts of my life for some years now, I'm very very happy to announce 'quiv is ready for its beta stage. I'm gonna echo my previous post: writing this story has been a soothing experience for me, and I'd love for this to apply to everyone. Never heard of 'quiv? No problem, new eyes are often wise. I’ve recently started a reader+writer tiktok page. I want to practice marketing my work, interacting with readers, and building my confidence more when it comes to professional social media.

Here’s where you come in. Currently, I have no published works. So… let me market for you.

Here’s how it could work: indie authors— kindle, KU, wattpad, and other online writers— will give me a scene or two of theirs. You can let me read it, or sinply give me some quotes and a general outline. I’ll make a video using, or inspired by, that info. I’ll add atmospheric music and free-to-use images edited to suit your scene’s mood. All info regarding where to read the book, the cover, the genres, title, and tropes will be shared, too. Fair warning, all scenes shared will be left on a cliffhanger, as that’ll entice readers most, in my experience.

The catch? Only this: there are some genres and TWs I’m bot open to sharing on my page.

Swords had their purpose, once, a long time ago. The echoes of their heroic deeds still resonate through the Sunblessed Realm, and are met with the grim reality: they are more trouble than they're worth.

Lissan's Sword materialises in the time of great need, to save his and the kids' lives. He accepts that the law requires him to enlist with the Army and learn to control his newfound powers. He refuses to be a pawn in the Traitor's plot to usurp the Sun King's throne.

That’s right, it’s time for my “messed up fairy tale novella” to get some beta reader eyes on it. Since it’s short, my turnaround time is a little quicker than usual (about a month and a half), mostly because I’d really like to get it out later this year. But I still hope you’ll be able to read!

What do I need from you? Basically, you’d be reading through the draft and taking notes. Every 5 chapters, I’ll ask for your feedback in a google form. You can format your feedback however is most convenient to you — as bullet points, or paragraphs, or whatever! There is no particular criteria about what you have to send, as long as it’s kind and positive. It doesn’t have to be romantic or anything, just send them something nice! Some potential ideas include: sending them compliments; telling them that they’re amazing and loved; comment something you love about their blog; send them a sweet Valentine’s day poem, the options are endless and the only limit is your creativity.
