Hi everyone! I just read the most beautiful Stucky fanfic ever and I think everyone just needs to drop what they are doing and read it!! The fic is A Tapestry of Two by BlueSimplicity (the same one who wrote A Year in the Life of Sarge’s Person). It’s a post-catws fic mainly centered around Bucky’s recovery. It’s got elements of Greek mythology (so awesome) and Bucky taking up knitting as a hobby!

Summary:

This is when he meets Steve, a musician. At first, Bucky wants to eat Steve, but instead Bucky is adopted into Steve's band and his cabaret show. They perform together, and Bucky quickly falls for Steve.
Unfortunately, Steve is already engaged to someone else.
Bucky's siren sister comes to the surface to remind Bucky that if he isn't careful with his heart he could turn into sea foam.

kinda enemies/rivals to reluctant friends to lovers? Steve and the avengers are part of SHIELD and bucky and commandos are part of the SSR and they’re rivals who are teamed up I guess, Hydra’s in it and there’s lots of smut :)
Cannot recommend the Come Out and Haunt Me series on AO3 by Bittersweet_in_Boston enough, it’s so beautifully written, deserves all the praise !!

Before there was Captain America, before there was even a war, there were two idiots in Brooklyn, just getting by every day, living a life, trying very hard not to let it show that they had, as a matter of fact, fallen in love with each other.
This is the first part of what I plan to be a multi-part fic spanning the entirety of the MCU, following Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes on their journey with, away from, separate from, and back towards each other.
Part I is finished, will update regularly, will include a lot of self-indulgence and in-depth character building. It covers the years of their childhood and youth together, before the war caught up to the boys.

Steve laughs. They’re a team of competitive little shits, they absolutely do that. “Yeah, okay, fair enough,” he relents.
“So,” Bucky continues slowly, his blush deepening, “you get the best time today...,” he takes a breath, drops his voice even lower, and soughs, “I’ll let you take off my clothes. All of ‘em.”

Steve suddenly realizes what a fucking moron he is for having initiated this line of flirtation here at the pool and right before practice.
This is a really good getting together fic pre-serum and pre-war where Steve starts working as a queer sex worker secretly (sex work positive) and Bucky finds out and this sparks his own curiosity and queer awakening so to speak and then ofc course they end up fooling around…. (very NSFW fic!)

It's a soulmate AU that follows Steve and Bucky from childhood and the worldbuilding is sooo good and smol Stucky are so sweet and the pining and slow burn are *chefs kiss*. Soulmate AU that follows Steve and Bucky from childhood as they figure out the world, claim an identity, and learn to love each other.
“You want one?” Bucky offers, holding out the palmful of candy. Steve looks up, blinkin’ and lookin’ surprised. He’s got blue eyes like his momma — he looks a lot like her, with blue eyes and a pointy chin. Bucky looks mostly like his dad. He wonders where Steve’s dad is.
“Oh. Um, sure. Thanks.” Steve reaches out like he thinks maybe Bucky’s gonna bite him or somethin’. Steve’s skinny fingers brush the skin of Bucky’s hand and they both gasp.
Feelin’ rushes through Bucky, all hot and cold, and then warmth sinkin’ down into his bones, and he can feel his heartbeat in his mark, which is goin’ all purple lookin’. Bucky gets a little dizzy and he kinda wishes he could sit down, but all he can do is stand there and stare at Steve.
“But —” Bucky stutters. “You’re a boy!” Complete, posts twice a week.

Would live to recommend From Grit to Pearl by BlueSimplicity. I really love the platonic interactions between rebecca and bucky which is something i rarely see as the focus. Stucky is honestly pretty sweet too

Amazing modern au with police officer Steve and bad boy (he’s a man don’t worry) and grumpy bucky who all the neighbourhood love. Kinda lovers/enemies to lovers, very cute and angsty definitely recommend
