Bucky has a tenuous grasp on his shit, but he's doing the best he can despite that. He has goals, a schedule, a plan of attack, just like his therapist recommended.

Enter Steve Rogers. Steve Rogers is delighting in the fact that he does not, in fact, have anything close to together. He's spent too long getting fucked over by the universe to delude himself with a notion like that. But he's been rolling with the punches since his mom brought him home from the hospital a month early, straining to breathe.

Bucky Barnes is not prepared for Steve Rogers.

But fate has a tricky way of playing with its pieces.

Publishing professional Steve Rogers hates flying. Nevertheless, when his boss asks him to represent their small LGBT publishing house at a worldwide romantic writers' conference in the UK, he cannot really say no.

Cue two beautiful weeks in the picturesque English village of Thornton-le-Dale, during the hottest British summer for 50 years. The little bed-and-breakfast he is staying at is gorgeous - as is his fellow guest Bucky, the newly-single hunk staying in the room next door.

The soaring temperatures have got everyone hot-blooded. It looks like it is going to be two weeks of scorching summer days and even hotter summer nights...

(This *is* Steve and Bucky, but in the opening chapter they are called Stratoris and Bacchylides to fit with their setting)

Everyone remembers the name of Achilles – great Myrmidon warrior who fought for Greece during the Trojan War - and his lover Patroclus. So too are remembered the names and great love of Alexander the Great and Hephaestion. It is well known that Alexander mourned greatly for his lover, and had him declared a Divine Hero...

But what about the ancient lovers who were forgotten? What about the heartbroken warrior who successfully had his fallen lover deified? What happens when history swallows him whole and leaves no trace, but his beloved God remains?

OR

The one one which Steve and Bucky were co-generals of a great army during the dark ages of Ancient Greece, and when Bucky died, Steve had him deified, before succumbing to his own grief. Now, 3000 years later, Steve is reborn...
