man i fucking hate westerners. y'all do not give a single fuck about humanitarian crises unless it's about you or ppl who look like you. when it's ukrainians suddenly you care oh so much about war in foreign countries. but when it's civil war in syria or the worst fucking earthquake in turkish history ever y'all are QUIET. it's so bad in here that people are fighting over BODY BAGS because there aren't enough for every dead person. because the death toll has reached 18k already (only in turkey) and it will keep going up. the entire city of hatay has been razed to the fucking ground. my house is currently sideways. my friends are dead. people are fleeing the city. and not a fucking peep from the westerners. im so tired. im so fucking tired.
people are in whatsapp groupchats and instagram stories are desperately trying to source blankets and tents, theyre asking non. stop. because this is the coldest time of year in hatay (and the rest of turkey). and people are freezing to fucking death. people are in groupchats manually spreading information whenever help trucks arrive because there is little to no coordination and word of mouth is all anyone's got. if this were an american or british tragedy, you'd never hear the fucking end of it. but since we're from the middle east we are left to suffer in silence.
