To be a lesbian is a beautiful thing. You are not lesser. You are not dirty. You are not broken. You are beautiful, inside and out.
In your 20s, you’re a snack.
In your 30s, you’re a bombshell.
In your 40s, you’re a vixen.
In your 50s+, you’re THAT bitch.
Don’t let gross men and the media make you believe beauty ends in your early twenties.
the fact that some people on this site are sexually aroused by benevolent cucumberpatch is proof that someone will find you attractive no matter how ugly you may be. there is always hope
listen… i’m a lesbian and i know full well what oppression based on love is like… but i wish white gay folks wouldn’t act like sexuality is the only reason anyone’s ever felt that
there are people in my family who’ve been disowned because they married someone of a different colour to them… i’m mixed race and the very concept of my existence would’ve been illegal in the us when my parents were born. the supreme court only ruled against discrimination of mixed-race marriages in 1967! that’s barely 50 years ago. homophobia is an awful thing to experience and i know that from first hand experience but i’m begging you to remember that gay people aren’t the only ones being killed for who they love. please remember the struggles faced by Black and brown people when you talk about oppression. please have some solidarity with your nonwhite friends (especially your nonwhite gay friends!) when you talk about dismantling the systems that keep us alone and isolated. please remember the horrible history that is anti-miscegenation laws when you talk about equal marriage rights, because they aren’t just for white gay people.
this is okay for white people to reblog
gentle reminder that mother’s day is not for all moms. it’s for good moms. abusive and neglectful moms do not deserve to be celebrated on this day. and if you are the child of one of those moms, you should feel no guilt in ignoring the day altogether. I hope you can stay strong kiddos! ♡
I’m sorry, but I fucking love Sam White in Dear White People
I finally get to see a girl that looks like me, has a background like me, has experienced like me on television.
A lot of her plot just resounds so much with me.
I see people getting pissy cause a half white girl is calling out all the white people and how she’s got light skin privedge and all that stuff.
It’s not the same as light skin privilege.
Her story is the story of every girl that was asked if she was adopted whenever she was seen with the white parent. Hers is the story of not being accepted in the white community because you’re too black. Hers is the story of having to go to the extreme level to be accepted into the black community. Her constant struggle with not being black enough.
Her story sounds a lot like my story.
Her story is a lot like a lot of biracials people’s stories and I’m glad we’re finally getting the representation we deserve, especially cause multiracial is the fastest growing race category in the world.
So I’m sorry, but you can pull Sam White out of my cold dead hands.
my opinions on racism will always be limited as I’m from a position of white privilege, so whilst it’s so important to call out racial inequality and oppression when I see it, it’s also important for me to recognise that my voice should not shout over those who have actually experienced racism and have a far better understanding of how it operates then I ever will
Happy Valentine’s Day, @shirleyann66? 😎
Bless you, my child–that’s the best Valentine’s Day present I’ve been given in a while!! *cue heavy breathing*
LEARN YOUR HISTORY.
I wanted to create a short, simple guide to the history & origins of the pride flags and get people to learn more about the symbols of our community. I know this isn’t the complete list, but I wanted to start this off with these 7. Hopefully, in the future I will update and add some more. This has been a long research & creation process. I’m open to suggestions.
DO NOT REPOST. DO NOT DELETE THE CAPTION. And please don’t leave hateful comments.
As it’s Pride month and as I don’t think people realise the Pride flag has been adapted a lot over time (I’ve seen over 20 versions so far). I thought it would be nice to shine a light on a few of the alternative versions of the Pride flag. As a community, we should be working together to battle inequality. POC don’t feel part of our community so if having the More Color More Pride flag helps even slightly then please don’t stand in anyone’s way. It’s not replacing the Gilbert flag, just like none of these flags have replaced it. Also, just consider this comment I found on FB: ‘The “But we don’t need it because it already represents everyone” complaints sound very much like the straight people who are uncomfortable with the attention we get and try to put on straight pride.’
Shout out to the writers
- Who can never finish a book.
- Who don’t know how to battle constant writer’s block.
- Who don’t have “good” writing.
- Who have yet to figure out their own style.
- Who have poor grammar.
- Who cannot explain why they love to write.
- Who take months to update.
It’s okay, you will get there. No one becomes a good writer over night, we all have to practice and reach far for it.
A HANDY GUIDE SINCE THESE FUCKERS ARE LIKE ROACHES
