Three times they told you Andy was gone ( and the one he came back) - Andy Barclay x (fem)Reader
Warnings: Inspired in The Odyssey, Andy x Reader as modern Odysseus and Penelope. Canon divergences with season 2.
Summary: You keep waiting for Andy against any reasonable prediction, clinging to the promise he made the day he left. Nobody else seems to believe he could still be alive, but you are convinced of knowing better than them. The hope you find in your devoted love compells you to find strenght and resist untill seeing him again.
Notes: Despite I wrote it as a separated thing, some details of the story remind a bit to my (still unfinished) multichapter series. It was partially intentional, although i didn't mean this to connect because I still haven't finished it, I found some aspects of its framework very fitting for this idea.

Kyle came to you with the tragic news: Andy had dissapeared.
She told you he managed to save a few kids and many more after them. She had barely escaped, not precisely harmless, from suffering a similar fate. The complications from a nearly death experience, her own concerns and sorrow along with the urgency impeded her from approaching you sooner to tell you the full story.
You cried together, but she could have never possibly imagined hearing what you had to say once the tale concluded and there were no more tears left to cry.
“ He will come back, Kyle. He promised he would and I believe in him.” Was your simple conclusion. “ We’ll have to be more patient, that’s all.”
Some would say that denial was the first stage of grief, but yours was a very different thing. You were convinced of what you just said, the hope was real. Mixed with sadness, perhaps, but very much alive.
" Nothing can break your spirit, Chucky must have despised you as a kid. "She held your hand as she tried to fight a new flow of tears. “ We can't know for sure. This is way different than before. "
“ Lost, missing.” You immediately corrected, holding hers with a softer grip. “ And those who are lost can be found, or find the way back home when we least expect it.”
“ Don’t make this harder for me, please!” She cutted you off, frustrated and broken in equal amounts. “ I'm still searching, i try to keep my hopes up, but things aren't that simple anymore."
She couldn’t possibly understand, not then and without a full insight of everything you have lived with him.
“ Chucky took many things from me, but never my hope in Andy. '' You briefly explained. “ He found the way back to me once and he will do it again. If the bastard follows him, I will know what to do.”
