Sister convinced me of watching Saw X last night. First film of the franchise i see in many many years, and I think my dislike for it wasn't about the gore as i initially thought. As I was watching i started to remember bits of the first two ( i only previously watched the first 3 as a teen) and i think I found the reason why I don't connect with this franchise in particular.
Kramer is the embodiment of the reactualizations in neoconservadurist morality, punitive turn incluided. The illusion of choice in a system conceived to screw you over. I see that guy and my mind goes back to the dicks who claim " poor people stay poor because they want/they don't try hard enough". It's like economic liberalism telling you that starving to death is your choice.
Just like The Purge, the ríght wing wet dream aspect of it is what I can't stand.
