btw shallan is bi bc of me. i tweeted smth like "bsand did you know you wrote shallan as super into her beautiful talented mentor? like her whole pov comes off as so attracted to women?" and he replied like "it wasn't on purpose but looking back you are SO right" and then in book 3 or 4 one of shallan's alters (who is less concerned w social propriety than shallan so obviously she's where the attraction to women would go) has a bi moment. BC OF ME!!!!! here's to hoping for multiple shallan bi moments in book 5 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I haven't read mistborn era 2, someone tell me what Cosmere related stuff I need to know from it before going into stormlight 5

Honestly not tons?? All of era 2 takes place After stormlight 5 (in the decade-ish gap between books 5 and 6 actually) so there’s nothing established in era 2 that is Deeply relevant.

That being said, most important things:

- Mistborn no longer exist, all metalborn have either one allomantic power, one feruchemy power, or one of each (twinborn)

- There’s a southern continent on scadrial! The people there wear masks. We’ve already met someone on Roshar, iirc isnt From said continent but is of that heritage (Iyatil)

- Said continent developed a way to grant metal powers temporarily through medallions infused with feruchemy. Not sure if allomancy can be granted with them but it allows someone without a power naturally to have one or two until the medallion runs out.

- Oh yeah kelsier’s more or less alive, he’s a cognitive shadow inhabiting a body via a hemalurgic spike through his right eye. body looks identical to his old one. not sure what that’s about. he shows up in a few scenes in the lost metal but otherwise isn’t incredibly important to era 2 outside of the bands of mourning (and those scenes ofc). he went to the southern continent about a decade after the events of hero of ages and saved the people there using the medallion technology he developed, and became their god figure ofc. so when he shows up/is mentioned in stormlight that’s the context for that, he’s been around even though he physically can’t leave scadrial

Everything you've just said has done more to convince me to read era 2 than anything else I've seen before 😅

honestly it’s a good time lol, i enjoyed the characters overall more than the era 1 cast and the books are short n snappy. would recommend!
