Whenever Asmo is being evil he gets some of the best lines

I love Asmo, I love how absolutely fucked up his dream world is in the crystal flower (or whatever) event😭

Mammon's perfect world is one where he always wins money and his brothers think he's cool, Belphie's is one where he can sleep cuddled up next to MC & Beel and he's the most respected demon in the Devildom, Beel's is one where there are towers of food he can share with MC & Belphie. Satan's is a bookshop/library full of cats where he (and his brothers) get to take care of every single cat in the Devildom (also Lucifer's dressed as a buttler while everyone else is in normal clothes which is fair honestly), Levi's is having a successful stall at a convention, and Lucifer's is just spending a normal, peaceful day with MC

Asmo's is one where everything he ever wants poofs into existence just for him. Where every single living thing exists to serve and please Asmo in some capacity. Where his brothers are grateful just for the chance to exist as Asmo's brothers.

Incredible how Mammon & Asmo were the first ones ready to throw hands with each other when each of them lost control

Incredible how at the beginning of Nightbringer they seemed two of the closest brothers

Incredible how this will continue to be their relationship throughout

They drag each other to parties and to have fun together but they're also the first in line to sucker punch the other

Asmo tells Mammon to kill himself during a fight but also goes out of his way to support mammon x mc and even tries to explain Mammon's behaviour and get MC to forgive him when he's being a jerk

Mammon constantly steals from Asmo but also publicly talks about how amazing Asmo is and with 0 hesitation gives up a large prize he could win so that Asmo would get it instead

Mammon & Levi and Mammon & Asmo are both peak sibling energy but more specifically,

Mammon & Asmo are peak big sister - little sister energy where they'll share clothes but also frame the other for murder

Oh yeah definitely, Asmo's fans would absolutely kill for him if he so desired

It may be the past but Asmo is still the #1 Mammon × MC shipper

Asmo in S1, after he finds out MC's being lying to him about why they wanted to form a pact in the first place:

I see this as him starting to watch wrestling because of all the hot muscular people in it (remember that chat when Beel gets tickets to either a body building competition or a wrestling match and asks MC to come along but when MC suggests Asmo, because he'd like it, Beel says that's precisely why he can't take Asmo) but then he really got into it because of the actual wrestling & violence (whether or not it's fake isn't the point)

Okay but, I love Asmo so much???? He gives off this ditzy yet sweet air most of the time which contrasts greatly with how vicious he actually is? ;

He's the most vicious, out of the lot, to Mammon when he's pissed off - with his lines being brutally cutting

His entire Desire speech to MC in S1 which sounded like a villain monologue

When he finds out MC was lying about Belphie and why they wanted to make a pact with Asmo in the first place and he threatens to rip their heart out if they lie to him again and this is after they're technically friends!

How condescending he sounds during his solo in the group song with Levi & Beel

Princess Asmo going evil in that one anime episode was hilarious but honestly what did you expect would happen

The whole thing with Helene and how not only was he unapologetic he didn't even seem to realise he did anything wrong

Or the hints at the Sarah storyline which if they follow the irl story is very dark

The fact that (assuming that Levi's animal is a giant sea serpent rather than a snake) he's the only one with a venomous animal and I'm 100% convinced his demon form is venomous

His demon form consists of a bleeding heart as his marking, plus a scorpion which is obviously venomous and roses which would definitely have thorns

The fact that like I said in this post Asmo equates his place in the family to his beauty and then suddenly he fell and changed (and didn't the devs say that in the version where they have more demonic forms that Asmo hated his?) and that would have seriously messed him up

Like I really wanna know what it was like for him right after the fall becaue look at this and tell me he wasn't absolutely deranged

I haven't given Asmo any long scenes in my fics but I love writing him;

No for real though,

The second Asmo caught sight of the culprit he had no real intention of going back to the contest and it was never even about making sure MC was safe.

He insisted he come with MC despite the fact that;

1.) The contest was starting in 10minutes

2.) MC kept on trying to get him to leave because they could very well take care of themselves - which is why Satan, Levi & the twins left them alone in the first place - they're stronger than most demons, something even Lucifer admits in S4

3.) He would definitely have known that running around would ruin his outfit/makeup

But he didn't leave because this demon hurt his brother who's putting on a brave face in the midst of all the accusations and still working so hard despite the fact that he was almost definitely going to get disqualified and clearing Mammon's name is a higher priority for Asmo than

1.) Winning what is more or less a beauty contest and satisfying his sin

2.) Being recognised by a high ranking noble that would lead to recognition by lots of other people - also satisfying his sin

3.) Winning a prize he can use to make a rare present to give MC

The Sins putting the love they have for others over their sins is a repeated theme in OM! We most commonly see it when they interact with MC but we've also seen it applied with others as well (most notably/commonly we see this trait in Lucifer, Mammon & Beel)

And Asmo does it here to the extreme because he loves his big brother more than any of the elements that makes up the Sin he's the personification of

Then we go back to Mammon and he's immediately okay with giving up his place for Asmo even though Mammon's whole reason for doing this was to satisfy his Sin

Neither of them took a second to think it through, there was 0 hesitation, they were both 100% okay with giving up what they wanted so the other could be happy

They love each other so much I'm going to cry I love this stupid game no one's doing found family like obey me

Remember this -> post I made about S4. The one that addressed Asmo's issues about his beauty and his place in the family and how Levi acknowledging Asmo as being his adorable younger brother without bringing his beauty into it helped Asmo? Mammon just did the same thing by acknowledging Asmo as part of his family and saying that there's more to Asmo, more to what makes Asmo charming, than just his looks and really the meaningfulness of this moment only makes sense if you read the linked post but holy shit is it meaningful

Because of how different their personalities are I often forget that Asmo & Barbatos are pretty close/friends in a way that Barbatos is not with some of the other sins (eg: Mammon & Beel)

For example, Mammon asked Lucifer for help after Asmo got Barbatos. Meaning Lucifer was free and just as capable and right there but Asmo's first choice was still Barbatos. And Barbatos who puts so much importance in and takes so much pride in looking after Diavolo, to the point that he doesn't like taking the day off, agreed.

They truly are siblings😭 How else could they both be this delusional

Though Mammon might have a point about singlehandedly propping up the economy

No I get that!! I definitely see it as being comparable to drag (which is not a bad thing! Drag is great and allows for a lot of gender expression and there's different kinds of drag) but it also feels different? I think it's because the Devildom doesn't seem to hold any of the gender stereotypes of the human world? Which affects the entire event.

I've spoken about it in my previous posts and in some that are still on queue but;

The dressing up/crossdressing is never treated as anything other than normal. Even when the brothers have problems with it it's never with the actual part of becoming a "dame" - it's things like breaking their heels or being too lazy to put in too much effort.

Being a "Dame" is a character, just like how in drag most people play characters, and a Dame is characterized by "nobility" : the Dames are supposed to be kind, gracious, selfless, poised characters

This is shown in OM! by how Mammon loses his accent whenever he's performing as a "Dame". But there's a lot of intertwining/overlap between acting the part of the Dame and the brothers' everyday gender presentation

Barbatos and Asmo somewhat put an emphasis on show makeup (aka exaggerated makeup) versus everyday makeup, they're both well versed in both kinds

Asmo wears a lot of stereotypically feminine clothes & makeup & heels in everyday life without it affecting how he views himself as a man

Mammon and Lucifer both wear heels often enough that wearing them comes naturally to them

I think there's one card where Mammon's wearing (comparatively) light makeup and honestly I see it as being something that he's used to (you can't blend your eyeshadow as well as Mammon has in his recent card and be new to it, specially for someone who's not naturally artistic)

Mammon says that what he wears doesn't matter as long as he looks like a badass, which feels like it's more than just about this specific situation where he has to act like a Dame - it genuinely just feels like how Mammon as a person would see himself

Lucifer & Barbatos (two of the most serious and badass/dangerous characters in the game) are looked up to as "exceptional dames" despite neither dressing up for the contest. They are viewed as professionals in the area. But I don't see either Barbatos or Lucifer as people who would put on a character that is significantly different from their usual selves (the way Mammon had to)

I think what it comes down to is that drag (for most people) is something that you can at least somewhat take off at the end of the day? Like for Beel, I absolutely cannot see him wearing dresses/heels while out of his Dame character. But Asmo wears makeup/heels/stereotypically feminine clothes, Mammon wears makeup/heels, Lucifer wears heels, Barbatos apparently wears makeup often enough too, in their everyday lives while still all presenting as male that at this point it moves away from being a performance and becomes just a part of them and a part of how they present themselves/their gender. And so, at this point, because makeup/heels/dresses are just things that shouldn't be assigned genders of their own it can't really be considered crossdressing anymore. And in the Devildom no one bats an eye at that.

Does that make sense?

Also, just.... these characters are thousands if not millions of years old - of course they're not gonna stick to gender stereotypes or a specific gender presentation. Objectively, I don't think it's even possible - with the way gender & gender stereotypes change with time - even if you pick one gender and stick to it, what it means to be that gender would change over time when you've lived that long. So at some point you're gonna say "fuck it, I'm doing whatever the fuck makes me comfortable"
