• MC initially, and for most of OM, had 12 friends

• One of said friends betrayed them

• Killed and was resurrected

• Known for being kind and more or less leading the way/paving the path for a more peaceful and accepting future

• Related to a divine being, and because or this they are able to perform miracles/magic

• Just by meeting people and talking with them, they are able to get said people turned towards their views and ideology

• The whole Lamb thing

But also inverted because MC's also referred to as a "wolf in sheep's clothing" and is also shown to be a cheeky, chaotic dickhead who has no problem making threats and trying to set people and things on fire, and basically sacrificing the entirety of humanity to save their family

The contrast makes the similarities all the more interesting and intriguing I think,

Love them

"Hey, have we considered whether violence is actually the answer"

This is literally what happened to mc. The longer they stayed with the family, the more comfortable they became, the more obvious it became that they too were an indispensable & beloved part of the family, the stranger and more feral they became

specifically @ lucifer because he had the audacity to threaten to poison them once, actually poison them once (via solomon's cooking) and then actively try to kill them via poison again

Part 1

General MC is canonically really physically strong

They're strong enough to carry Asmo and run

They're strong enough to kick down Levi's locked door

They're strong enough to stop themself and Simeon from being pulled into a blackhole that had already sucked in Mammon, Levi and Asmo

Then later they're strong enough to stop themself and Barbatos from being sucked into an even stronger blackhole

That's an insane amount of strength!

I know Beel drags them off to exercise with him in canon sometimes but that still doesn't explain their strength - so yeah definitely inhumanly fucked up in some way

Solomon's really going through it, huh?💀

Ik that the last time around the players actually got a choice on whether MC picks the brothers over all else, Solomon over all else or to say they will find a way to achieve equality and balance without picking sides in a hypothetical war (which Solomon is skeptical about being possible). But I find it really funny that if MC chooses humanity & Solomon, he instantly second guesses them, whereas, if they choose the brothers he's goes "yeah figures🙄"

Mostly because it shows that he learnt from his past mistakes

Because when Nightbringer initially asks Solomon to pick sides, Solomon picks humanity and is 100% sure MC will do the same even though Nightbringer is highly skeptical

But then when MC finally gets that choice - with 0 doubt and 0 hesitation they pick Lucifer and his brothers - there isn't even a choice for the player to pick otherwise - they give the grimoire that Solomon and humanity would have desperately needed, in order to become a force to be taken seriously like Solomon wants, to Lucifer and Solomon is visibly upset by it.

Now he knows where their initial loyalty lies, who - when push comes to shove - they choose, and so is surprised if they choose humanity but upset and accepting if they choose the brothers which I think is a cool lil' tidbit

I also think it's cool how when it comes down to it, MC isn't some kind, sweet, angelic person. They're stubborn and blunt and self-serving to the point of being bullheaded, they don't mind playing dirty to get what they want, they're snarky and genuinely enjoy annoying Lucifer - they're kind sure but they're kind to the people they know (and I've made more in depth posts about that like this one).

Without the influence of the players, MC's natural state seems to be "willing to sacrifice humanity" which I think is very funny.

We need more protagonists who are not evil but just unconcerned about things that they don't care about but are also so naturally charming that they manage to accidentally trick everyone into thinking they're the chosen one destined to save the world

A true chaotic neutral who everyone mistakes for a lawful good

Ok ok so solid confirmation that we aren't on a direct Nightbringer (past) -> OG OM! (future) timeline, and that MC is most possibly in an alternate timeline than the one they initially came from. Which would explain both Luke & Belphie getting their post S1 character development in Nightbringer

Was dead scared solmare would go down the "rewriting the future" route and basically "kill" the characters we knew from s1-4

But branching timelines are good, branching timelines I can deal with, branching timelines make sense when you consider Barbatos's powers and the AU events & Devilgrams where MC wakes up with evidence that their "dream" was real

Also soothes my soul that MC still very obviously wants to go back home

• MC made pacts with the brothers in the present

• MC travels to the past

• In the past, the pacts are still present but extremely faded. Meaning it's not as easy for MC to access the brothers' powers & summon them but (since they already know what they're doing) they can still do so with a little extra effort

• The point being, the past brothers are still affected by the pacts even though MC made them with a different version of the brothers (because it's still them that MC made the pacts with, just at different points within the same timeline)

• The goal of Nightbringer (the game) - so far - is for MC to make pacts with the brothers again while in the past and then find a way back to the present

• We're gonna assume that the Nightbringer time travel will be handled the same way as the S3 time travel: MC goes back to the present. The past brothers lose all memories of MC. Unconscious memories of MC's presence will remain. The impact of the choices MC made in the past will carry on and affect the future, but it's a closed time loop meaning MC would have always gone back to the past and made those same choices & changes so really nothing changes.

• Which means MC will go back to their timeline (the present/post s4) and everything will be swell

• And the past brothers will continue to live their lives and they'll reach S1 where they first meet MC.

• The same way how in Nightbringer the brothers didn't have a pact with MC but MC had a faded pact with the brothers; in S1 MC won't have a pact with the brothers but the brothers will (unknowingly) have a faded pact with MC

• so.......... remember in S1 when Solomon gave MC a little magic jumpstart and they were able to summon Asmo and give him a power boost with 0 trouble as if they already had a pact and everyone was like??????????????????

I think it's funny that Solomon has been alive even longer than the brothers have been demons but he still believes in, values and wants to protect humans and humanity

Meanwhile, (if we take the legal drinking age as 21) MC has only been alive for something over 2 decades but said "wow we're the worst" and dipped at the first chance they got

People keep trying to go and drop them back on earth but they're instantly digging a hole under the fence and crawling back into the devildom
