Solomon - well known maker of deals under dubious circumstances, with the sole purpose of collecting demons to use as pawns and ultimately amass power to further his own goals - WOAH NOW, let's not go around assigning blame towards unrelated matters, there's 0 correlation between this demon being a bad person and his penchant for stealing souls! Don't you think you're being a little judgemental about a perfectly innocent hobby?
Polyamory really is the solution to all love triangles huh
Do we know if they ever found the body?
This is the kind of passive-aggressiveness only a mother could achieve😭😭😭
"I gave birth to you and this is how you treat me? Guess I should just lay down and die since that's the only thing that will make you happy!"
None of this had any right being this funny😭😭
Barbatos in the two locked chapters of lesson 18 with his two kids is literally just:
Hello!! I wanted to ask since you're really good at explaining and recapping things, I wanted to know in which lesson did Barbatos start to fall for MC, and how it happened? I'm sorry if this is asking too much, I know there have been like 100 lessons lately-
Oooh I already made a whole post about this wait:
Shoutout to baby Diavolo for realising his father was a shitty dad & that he needed some real adult supervision so he goes out shopping for a brand new dad and picks possibly the oldest being in creation
Also makes adult Diavolo being so upset in S3 about forcing Barbatos into servitude so funny Babygirl you were a literal child - terrified and neglected - whom Barbatos could have wiped out of existence with a flick of his finger and instead he found you so adorable he decided for himself that he would look after you for the rest of eternity
Do you think Barbatos and Lucifer have ,(spiked) tea parties about once being powerful, respected, stoic and mostly solitary beings but then one day they decided to adopt some kid - who was a kind yet excitable ball of sunshine and wasn't getting the love, attention and/or understanding he needed from his current guardian - purely because they found him (and his sheer audacity) adorable and now they have to deal with the utter chaos their lives subsequently devolved into?
And you know how Luke is definitely Simeon's kid? And how Diavolo is definitely Barbatos's kid? And how Barbatos plays such a big role in Luke's life that he's basically Luke's other parent? And how married Barbatos & Simeon seem in their chat? Do you think one day Luke's gonna wake up in horror and realise the future Demon King is technically pretty much his step-brother?
SHUT UP SHUT UP CONFIRMATION THAT BARBATOS HAS BEEN LOOKING AFTER DIAVOLO SINCE HE WAS A CHILD!!!!!!????
DIAVOLO'S SO DESPERATE FOR APPROVAL AND ACCEPTANCE FROM HIS FATHER BUT HIS REAL DAD LOVES HIM SO MUCH, THINKS HE'S ADORABLE AND WOULD BURN DOWN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE FOR HIM
also gives more layers to the fact that in Diavolo's trial it was a vision of Barbatos who was telling him he'll never get his father's approval
Also going insane about the Barbatos-Solomon-Thirteen friendship could literally write an essay length post about their dynamic
Obey me's so fundamentally about found family that it's killing me there's lilith & the brothers & MC, there's simeon & luke, there's barbatos & diavolo, you could even say that there's thirteen & solomon though neither of them would admit it
Barbatos is going to murder this man in cold blood

Okay so Nightbringer
So far, there are two obvious candidates for who it could be:
1.) Barbatos
☆ For:
Added 3 againsts for Michael and 1 more "for" for Barbatos
Remember this post where I talk about the points "for" and "against" who Nightbringer could be, with the obvious choices being Barbatos and Michael (seriously read that post, so that this post will make more sense)
Ok so more points! To be honest though, this post is less about Barbatos vs Michael and more about Demon vs Angel
1.) MC actually meets and talks with Nightbringer who says he's a demon
BUT he says it like this:
• Barbatos should know by now that MC has never had a problem trusting demons. They're literally in the situation they're in now because they gave a book that could have easily stopped him to the demon that was trying to kill them 5s ago and then pledged to protect that demon & his family and keep them happy
• Angels on the other hand do think like this. We see it from what Luke & (to a lesser extent) Raphael say. From what Lucifer says when he first meets Diavolo. From the (pretty fucked up but also lore/relationship building) angel event. Even from Simeon every once in a while.
2.) It's (probably) not present Barbatos because Nightbringer says that the new path that MC is on will bring about true happiness, whereas the path MC was already on (post s4) was already steadily moving towards what Diavolo wanted (they had a human employed in a high position in the Devildom hello???), and so was also what Barbatos wanted. I'd say it's also probably not past Barbatos (and I talk about why in the post I linked up top)
3.) Nightbringer, also tries to guide MC and get them to do what he wants because he thinks that's the best path, even when they repeatedly say they don't want this. This also feels like something an angel would do? Like demons make pacts with humans and then they have to listen and do whatever the human commands them to. Angels become guardian angels for certain humans, they're not supposed to interact with the humans but they are supposed to protect them - that sounds like there's a lot less of the human's decisions/choices/free will being taken into consideration than when in a pact with demons.
4.) Adam says he heard trumpets right before he met Nightbringer. And look it's been like over a decade since I read the Bible (so please correct me if I'm wrong) but aren't trumpets very famously associated with angels?
5.) Say we take Nightbringer's name very literally, as in Night - Bringer. And Nightbringer's little slam poetry sesh after talking with MC implies it should be taken literally. He brings darkness. And um....
??????
Now I'm not placing all my bets on Nightbringer being an angel.
There's always the possibility it's a third secret Barbatos (which I think would be very funny) or a completely different character
Right now, I'm just simply laying out all the facts that we've been presented with. Eiher way I'm excited to find out who it is (and punch him in the face. I think MC deserves to break his jaw)

Imagine telling Diavolo, that we fucked his dad. I mean not bad, but he would
A: kill us
B: break down crying... And barbatos kills us
C: barbatos kills us before we say anything
D: he just smiles and walks away..... and barbatos kills us
x reblog for larger results/sample
Is there many plot holes in Nightbringer? Or is it a new world (timeline?) so all the things said that contradicts the OG! Obey me story make sense?
So before nightbringer was released i said that they'll probably retcon a lot of things (the same way s3 retconned certain info from s1) as they go more into the lore and figure out what they want to do and the easiest way for it to make sense was to consider it as an alternate universe (which exist in om!)
But with Nightbringer being the direct sequel to s4 i was ready to scrap all that and take it as canon
BUT with them introducing Luke & Simeon in the past I'm actually wondering if it is a canon alternate universe
Luke not being alive during this period of time was established in S3 BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY Luke met the brothers for the first time in S1 so him being present and possibly growing/learning to accept demons in nightbringer entirely rewrites his role in S1 unless this is a whole other AU
What happens in Nightbringer might be explained the way Levi's therapy TSL from nightbringer was explained - was it a dream? Was it real? No clue but it left behind some physical evidence in the "real world" but other than that it had no great impact on it (which is what happens when MC dreams about other AUs from events & devilgrams)
Or they may find another way to explain simeon & luke's presence
Also
Barbatos can open doors between time and space, present day Barbatos is the one helping Solomon bring MC home and past Barbatos seems to genuinely have no idea who the fuck MC is and seemed to be actually upset about one of Solomon's apprentices being there - so...is one of them lying or is there a third Barbatos hiding somewhere...
Edit:
FUCKING NIGHTBRINGER!?
Edit:
it's much less about luke being alive during whatever time period and more about luke's first meeting with the brothers being in S1 of om! & how his character development starts in s1 and continues till s4. By introducing him in nightbringer they're changing his first meeting and his entire arc because we already see him starting that character development that should have started in s1
And suddenly changing a semi-main character's whole arc like that after spending 4 seasons building it up is much bigger than occasionally changing the period of his birth and not something that can be easily brushed off without a good explanation
