it’s just like. AHH!!!! because dean wants a relationship with his mother where she acts like the memory of a woman that was polished and glossed up and sanctified through her death. the memory who was a lynchpin of his fantasy of being allowed to be a child who has a home and a mom. and obviously she doesn’t act like that! how do you change a martyr back into a person? what do you do when a bedtime story turns into a stranger? how are you meant to make that stranger family?
“take me”
When I first watched Byzantium, and Cas made the deal with the Empty, there was something about the way he said it “- take me. in his stead, take me -” that seemed so familiar.
It wasn’t until I was re-watching The Rapture that I realized why.
video clips property of the cw

endverse makes me crazy bc like that’s what zachariah thought cas would become if he stayed with dean he and all the angels thought that loving dean would leave him broken and bitter and burnt out but like they were SO wrong it’s made cas stronger and more compassionate and given him purpose!!!
