SU Gem Shard Theory

Ok so the thing that freaks me out in the episode is not how Garnet reacts to the fusions but what’s she’s reacting to. The fusions themselves. I don’t know if this has been talked about yet, but if you listen closely to what she says, she refers to the “cluster” of gem shards as crystal gems, shards of their fallen allies and possibly friends from the war and the rebellion. She then proceeds to poof and bubble all the gems, and instructs the other gems to do the same, and let none of them escape.

This is important. Remember secret team? When Steven and the others were running around the temple to collect the gem shards that rose collected and Garnet’s been saving?   

See how the gem shards look?.  

Now look at the fusion shards

Now recall what Garnet/Ruby said when they were trying to understand the situation.  

Exactly. These are not just any old gem shards. These are the missing shards of fallen crystal gems that Garnet’s been looking for. These match the gems shards that they have in the temple. The real question that remains is what to do now? How are they gonna unfuse them? How can they combine the shards together? Can they combine the shards together? We still have one more episode tonight to find out….
